she lived in the clouds
her vivid imagination
was all that she had lefteverything was gone
except her dreams
and escaping reality
became her own realityher social life
was nonexistent
apart from you, davidshe often dreamed
of being with you
but it was all too clear
that you were just friendsshe knew you didn't like her
simply for her looks
and it was vice-versayou liked each other
for who you were
you weren't shallow
unlike some peopleyou were thankful for her
and to be in her company
in this foreign countryit was her home
she knew it all too well
and you were delighted that
she had taken you inof course - she couldn't say no
it was impossible
especially when it was you, davidin that instance
it could be said that
she was indeed shallow
but it wasn't like thatyou see, to her, you
weren't a big football star
you were simply her friendit was simple really
you cared for each other
it was a two way relationship
you both got what you neededyou gave her love
a friendship-kind of love
something she had cravedshe gave you a friend
when you were in need
and struggling somewhere
you hadn't been beforebut that was just the way you liked it
you gave something
and you got something back in return
and that was finefor now at least
