Once upon a time in a beautiful land far far away in the kingdom of Germany a prince was born. He had hair as dark as chocolate and skin as white as snow. He was named Reginald after his father before him. He was destined to grow up and become king over all the land at age 18. He would become a most gracious and kind king, and everyone would love him.
Sounds like a great story right? Well that's not where our story begins. Let's look in the same kingdom, but this time in the cold, dreary, and poor part. In the same cold month that the prince was born, a girl from that village was born also. And her name was Grimhilde. Not a pretty name right? Well just because the name sounds ugly does not mean that the person who holds that name is. She was born with raven black hair, and the most unique lime green eyes. She was the only child in her very poor family. Her mother was gorgeous, she was blonde and had purple eyes. Her mother was a maid in the palace while her dad was a handsome blacksmith. Grimhilde had never really felt that her dad truly loved her. Grimhilde was named after her grandmother who died long before she was born. Grimhildes mother was over joyed to find out that she had had a baby girl, she kissed her girl the moment she was in her arms. Sadly not long after her kisses her mother died twenty minutes after due to unknown causes. Grimhildes dad was miserable and blamed her for his wife's death. That's when he became a drunk and turned to beer. For the first two years of her life her aunt raised her for her dad did not want anything to do with her. And in those two years her aunt started to notice that little Grimhilde could do stuff that was not normal. Such as sneezing little sparks of green energy. The aunt kept it a secret for she feared that they would kill her little niece for practicing witchcraft. Her aunt later died due to a tragic incident that involved green energy and Grimhilde. Grimhildes dad grew furious after that and again blamed his own flesh and blood for the death of his sister. Her dad took her to an orphanage and begged them to take her, but alas they had no room and turned him down. Her dad, Charles had no choice but to raise her on his own no matter how much he hated her. He drank A LOT during that time. He hated her so much that he would often beat her with a stick or threaten to sell her. That scared our poor little Grimhilde very much indeed.
Nothing much happened until she turned six. A wealthy family moved in across the street and that family had a little girl Grimhildes age named Rose. Rose and Grimhilde became the best of friends insomuch that they spent every waking second with each other. Grimhilde spent most of her time at Roses house for she liked the time away from her unkind and nasty father. Charles had been drinking a lot recently and has been bringing home women every night. Grimhilde began to hate her dad even more then he hated her. At age seven she was to be sent to grade school by Roses family to be taught arithmetic and grammar. On the morning of her very first day of school she jumped out of her bed very eager to get our of her dreadful house. She combed her hair and pulled it back with a blue ribbon that Rose got her for her late birthday. She put on her simple black frock that was worn out to the point that it could be called rags. She ran to her dads bedroom to tell him that she was getting a ride from Roses dad to school.
She opened her dads door to find in his bed his most recent girlfriend Jemma. Jemma sat up groggily in her underwear and said '' What do you want you little rascal!''
Grimhilde not suprised to find a half nude women laying in her fathers bed replied ''Tell my father that I am off to school and to not worry about me.'' Jemma grabbed a beer bottle from the floor and and chugged the last bit of it and said ''Like he would ever in his right mind care about you!'' Grimhilde nodded and left the room yelling behind her ''I could say the same thing about you!'' She could then hear Jemma's drunk yells as she darted out of the house to an awaiting Rose. And to a new day full of possibilities.
