Chapter 6

ONYX

Morning. For some people waking up in the morning while hearing the birds chirp, the sound of the gust of the wind and the sunlight that kisses your skin, is the best thing in the world. But then right now, I think that waking up in the morning is the worst thing in the world.

"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NA DON'T YOU TOUCH MY GAMIT!! YOU DAMN WOMAN!!"

"Sorry na! Hindi ko naman sinasadya—aray! Hoy! Pearl! Wag mong ibabato yan! Pag yan tumama kay itim—anak ng!"

"BAYARAN MO YON! PAY FOR IT!! PAY FOR IT!! PAY FOR IT!!"

"Lintik na yan—oo na babayaran ko! basta tumigil ka na sa pagbabato ng gamit! baka magising ang dragon—"

Pearl stopped her hands from throwing the alarm clock in the midair while Ruby stopped dead on her tracks at ilang ulit na lumunok habang napapatingin sa akin.

"O-onyx," sabay nilang banggit sa pangalan ko.

Hindi ko nalang sila pinansin at padabog na pumasok nalang sa cr para maligo. As much as I badly wanted to kick their asses, I can't because we're getting late in our class. I think I don't need my alarm clock anymore. Just my sisters annoying voice is already enough to wake me up and to piss the hell out of me, early in the morning.

Unfortunately, Pearl and Ruby are my roommates. Pangtatlong tao ang dorm kaya nang makarating kami dito noong isang linggo ay dagliang hinila ni Topaz sina Sapphire at Amethyst sa isang room na katabi lang namin so I'm stuck with these two retarded sister of mine. Now I'm gonna have to endure this scene everyday for my whole stay here in this academy.

Pagkatapos kong maligo ay nagbihis na ako ng uniform. It's a white polo, paired with a red coat and a black necktie. Tenernohan ito ng isang gray skirt for girls and gray slacks for boys. The skirt is too short since it's 3 inches above the knee. Buti nalang at may mahabang itim na medyas na knee-length to hide our legs a bit. Well, I don't mind though. Bagay naman sakin yung uniform.

While checking myself on the mirror, I unconsciously touched the academy's crest that is printed on the right side of the coat.

I don't know but from the first time I laid my eyes in the symbol, I felt something weird. Like something familiar—

"Nyx hindi ka ba tapos diyan? Malelate na tayo," napatigil ako sa pag-iisip tungkol sa crest nang tawagin ako ni Ruby. They are both standing at the doorway at ako nalang ang hinihintay.

I quickly grabbed my things before I followed them outside. Muntik ko pang makalimutan ang badge ko, mabuti nalang at napansin ni Pearl. It's a badge that indicates that you are a Stratos. It's just a little crown made of steel that you put on the left side of your coat. We're still in rank Stratos since we're transferees pero pwede naman kaming makaakyat agad ng rank if we pass the monthly rank test.

Habang papalabas ng dorm ay nakasalubong namin sila Amethyst kaya nagsabay-sabay na kami sa paglalakad since we are in the same class. We didn't take the entrance exam because we personally requested to the headmaster to let us join the Class 2-E. The lowest class with the students with lowest ranks. We actually wanted to be low-profile for awhile and we wanted to start from scratches. The headmaster quickly accepted our request. Tuwang-tuwa pa nga ito dahil kami lang daw ang natatanging estudyante na nagrequest ng ganoon.

While walking, everyone keeps on staring at us. When I say everyone, what I mean is literally all students that we are passing by are staring at us, jaw dropped.

"Who are they?"

"They look like goddesses"

"Ang gaganda naman nila"
