I was holding onto a shadow,
One I thought was mine
But when darkness eloped,
It engulfed me in no time.
I trusted my Shadow,
A little too much in the light
So it took over my world
When darkness came with delight.
I listened intently
To the sound of my heart crush.
A million pieces of me
Just lost to mere dust.
My eyes, now darkened
With sadness and betrayal
Stare at an infamous scowl
Eyes, once made of pearl.
