I plopped down onto my bed with a sigh, my short curly black hair bouncing around me. My stepdad and mom have been fighting for only a few minutes, but it seemed to escalate quickly. Suddenly my door was swung open, my mom quickly pulled me to my feet only to push me onto the floor. My glass doll toppled over, breaking against the wooden floor.  "LOOK AT THIS MESS YOU'VE MADE, CLEAN IT, BRAT!" My mother practically screamed at me.  Tears threatened to spill from my eyes, I don't dare to talk back. She stared daggers into me, not making a sound. I quickly turn to pick up the pieces. Eventually, I hear the soft patter of footsteps against the floor, she finally left the room. I sniffle softly, unfortunately for me this was a common occurrence. The yelling, the hitting, the blaming. I pick up all the broken pieces, the one doll I own, and love now shattered. Luckily I can fix her, but for now, I'll just take a walk. The fighting started up again, but I ignored it as I packed a bag. I got two bottles of water and a bag of goldfish. I stuffed the stuff into my small leather backpack, hoping to be back before dark. I slip my jean jacket over my black and white striped shirt. My ripped jeans getting caught on the dresser door, I quickly untangle myself and smile. 'Maybe I look alright for once..'  I shrug and throw my backpack on, then grab some off-brand tennis shoes. After finally getting dressed, I unlock my window and hop through, being careful with shutting it behind me. I take a long, deep breath and start walking. There's a woods behind my house, and if you follow the right path, there's a hiking trail. Slowly but surely I make my way through the forest, and onto the hiking trail. I keep walking and walking until I walk so far I.. I don't know where I am. It's almost sundown, "Shit.. my parents are gonna kill me." I mumble.  I walk down a path but realize I must be pretty far, and that I should get a better view of where I am. I walk up to another empty path that led upwards. As I start to climb, a strange sensation crept up my back. A sensation I have never experienced before, and I'm unable to pinpoint what's causing it. It only grows darker, and my fears becoming more prominent. Yep, I'm lost. I could try and find a place to sleep, actually, I should It's waaaayyyy too late to turn back now.  My breathing is rapid, this is one steep hill. Soon I come across a cave of some kind, it's really dark and I can barely see anything. I squint my eyes, trying to see if anything lives in it. No movement. I quickly get into the "cave", sitting close to the outer wall. I relax, taking out a bottle of water and a small baggy of goldfish. I eat and drink, feeling better already. Soon I fall asleep, dreaming of nothing. Strange. I wake up, the sun shining through the cave's entrance.  I yawn loudly, slowly sitting up. Pain shoots up my back, "Ow, must've slept hard" I mumbled to myself, cracking a tiny smile. My smile suddenly snapped away from my lips, realizing where I am and how I got here. 'Shit..' I groan, standing up. I grab my bag and put the empty water bottle and plastic bag back into my backpack. I throw it on, but something catches my eye. I turn to get a better look. wow. There's a giant hole in the middle of this cave. Curiosity fills my brain as I slowly creep towards it. I lightly pull on the straps of my backpack, leaning forward to look down into the hole. I can't see much, maybe a bit of yellow at the bottom. It's real deep, kinda scary. I shrug and turn around, taking a step towards the entrance of the cave. Something snags on my foot... I start falling backward and I don't stop until I hit the ground with a loud thud.

I     F  E  L  L . . .

I open my eyes, looking around. I was unharmed in the fall thanks to these weird yellow flowers. I sit up, my back no longer hurting. There's a dimly lit path leading somewhere, and there's no way I'm getting back up to the surface from here. I stand, looking up, I fell rather far. I take a deep breath and walk onto the path and turn a corner. A large opening with two pillars stood tall in front of me, I hesitated but quickly walked through. A single flower stood in the middle of the room, illuminated by some light above. I slowly creep towards it, and suddenly it grows a face. "Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the flower." I jump back, surprised. "You must be new to the underground, Aren'tcha?" I don't reply, still in shock from a talking flower. Flowey's face contorted slightly, but he kept smiling. "Golly, you must be so confused, someone outta teach you how things work around here. I guess little ol' me will have to do it!" Suddenly, a strange light emerged from my chest. It was some kind of heart, and it glowed with multiple colors. Red, cyan, orange, blue, and green shined from the heart. Flowey paused, his eyes fixed on the heart thingy. "Erm.. anywho! You see that? That's your SOUL! The very culmination of your being!" I nod a little, mesmerized by the glowing. "Your  SOUl starts off weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV." I look up at Flowey, my expression contorts, being confused. "What's LV?" I ask, standing tall. "Why it stands for LOVE of course! You want some LOVE, don't you? Don't worry I'll share some with you!" Five white pellets circle around Flowey. "Down here, LOVE is shared through tiny white.. friendliness pellets! Are you ready? Catch as much as you can!" Flowey smiled as all of the friendliness pellets came flying at me. I jump up and try to catch one, but instead of grabbing one they all came at me and injured me. I fall over, my heart on the cusps of shattering. Flowey's smile turns into a demented grin, "You idiot! In this world...

I T ' S  K I L L  O R  B E  K I L L E D . Why would anyone pass an opportunity like this?!?"

Dozens of Pellets surround me, I start to weep and cry, was this it?

"Die."

Flowey starts to laugh madly, his grin bigger and frightening. The pellets start to close in and I only start to cry harder. in an instant Flowey is pushed away by a magic flame. My SOUL goes back into my body, hidden away. A large anthropomorphic goat walks into view and I'm healed. "What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth." The goat creature spoke, I wiped my tears away, though still afraid. "Ah, do not be afraid my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the RUINS. I pass through this place every day to see if a human has fallen down." I stand up, and walk towards Toriel, being careful. "Come! I will guide you through the catacombs." Toriel leads me through a walkway, similar to the ones before except the pillars were purple. This room had a calm feeling to it, and there are marble stairs leading to another entranceway. Between the two staircases, there is starlight. It grabs my attention and I walk towards it. Toriel has already gone up the stairs and into the next room.
