I steadied myself after spinning around for what felt like hours. Looking back now it had only been a few moments, if that. But when you're young time isn't always easy to keep track of. That is my earliest memory, running and spinning in circles memorized by my shadow. My Aunt calling me foolish and telling me to quit daydreaming.

I would make up incredible stories when I was yound and tell my whole family! About how my shadow would sometimes leave me and go on secret adventures. I think being a child in Trevirino made me wish for excitement that wasn't there.

Trevirino was so steeped in tradition, no time for nonsense. I was constantly reminded of this and often spent hours having information read to me so that I may come into a fruitful job. The town is devoid of colour. Filled with varying shades of grey making the mood sombre. Even the people feel like they lack colour. Everyone in town has the same pale skin, dirty blonde hair and dark eyes.

My family wasn't poor but being middle class wasn't easy. As I grew my imagination shrunk and I began to focus on things like science and law. Still secretly I imagine towns that are layered in such vibrant colours that they are almost blinding you look at. My friend Leo always knows of my daydreams and will sometimes bring back the brightest coloured pencils he can find from towns he and his dad visit so that I may draw them.

Leo and I are walking through town. Like may days in Trevirino it is overcast and gloomy. As we walk through town on our way to class we come to a roadblock and told to take another route. A crowd mills around barriers that are being put up. Their interest peaked as our town is usually quiet and uneventful. I tried to peer around the crowd and as I do I manage to see a glimpse of jet black hair. As quickly as I see it that it vanishes.

"EMMY...COME ON OR WE WILL BE LATE" Yells Leo through the crowd.
