Marie sits in her bedroom, spending the night at home after dinner with her sisters. Edd has a surprise visit from his parents so Marie stayed away knowing they didn't like her. The teenager starts refilling the hummingbird feeder when she hears faint music. It takes less than a second for her to realize its in her head.

Marie puts the glass feeder down as gently as possible before diving off the bed, fishing her phone out from her backpack. She quickly googles the lyrics and squeals loudly while falling back onto her bed. Footsteps run to her door and Marie hears two frantic knocks before a familiar head of blonde hair peeks through.

"What happened?!" "My song! I just heard my fucking song!" "Holy shit!" May hugs her sister tightly and squeals a bit, happy she's getting closer to finding her soulmate. More footsteps can be heard before the third Kanker sister throws the door open. Lee pushes her hair away from her face and glares at the other two.

"Hey! The fuck is going on in here?! Why do you two sound like hogs on helium?! Shut up already!" "Marie heard her song, Lee!" "What? That song shit ain't real. Probably had your earbuds in and spaced out." "No, I heard it. Edd heard his too, you can't say it's not real." "Edd didn't hear shit either. May and i never heard a song and it took all six marks for us to know we had Ed and Eddy." "Because you tried to prove it wasn't Eddy and Ed was oblivious to May being his soulmate. Maybe you two did hear a song and brushed it off." "We didn't. Plus, that song shit is so fake. We randomly hear some part of a song and know who we're meant to be with? This isn't a fucking fairytale, Marie. This is real life." "The song doesn't tell me who my soulmate is, but it brings us closer. I heard people test it out in public by repeating the part out loud." "And a bunch of strangers chime in because people know music. It's all bullshit, Marie. I get it, you're still hung up on it not being Double D because we got the other two Eds and you didn't. Doesn't mean you start believing in little kid shit. Let us know when you're back to reality." Lee leaves the room and Marie watches her, tempted to throw something at the door. May hugs her sister, able to see the frustration behind her eyes. Anger turns to tears as Marie looks at May.

"You believe me, right?" "I do. I believe you and Edd both. Maybe I didn't hear one because Big Ed doesn't really listen to music and it would end up being a movie theme or something. Songs are rare, you and your soulmate are just extra special." "I hope you're right..." May gives her sister one last squeeze before leaving her to herself for the night. Marie sighs and melts into the mattress, putting her earbuds in and blasting her new favorite song. She briefly considers asking Nazz if she heard a song too, but she doesn't think she'll be able to handle it if she didn't. The blunette sighs before playing with her tongue piercing, allowing the ball on the end to continuously glide around the roof of her mouth.

On the other side of town, Nazz is scrolling through her twitter feed before she showers when she hears a woman singing. It's a bit faint and it seems to echo, but Nazz can hear it clearly.

Nazz grips her phone tightly before googling the lyrics, relieved that it's a real song and excited because she heard it. She gets out of her bed and dances around the room to no sound for a moment before nearly screeching in excitement. She goes through her contacts and nearly calls Marie when she pauses.

'What if she didn't hear it?'

After taking a deep breath, Nazz calls the next person to come to mind.

?: "Hello?"

N: "SARAH! I HEARD IT!"

S: "WOAH, HEARD WHAT?!"

N: "DUDE!"

S: "WHAT?! Oh... OH! OH! SONG! YOU!"

N: "I HEARD MY SONG AND I LOVE IT!"

S: "IF YOU DON'T SEND A LINK, I'M HIDING ONE OF MY BROTHER'S SOCKS IN YOUR ROOM!"

N: "EWW! DUDE! NASTY!"

Nazz suppresses a gag and sends a link after hanging up, listening to it again herself while she waits for a reply. After the music ends, her phone is immediately ringing again. Nazz laughs softly before answering again.

N: "Yes?"

S: "LOVE! That song is so cute honestly! I love how it's already about girls who like girls so it fits perfect!"

N: "Right?! Plus it's by Girl In Red and who do people ask if you listen to if they wanna know you're gay?"

S: "HOLY CRAP I JUST NOTICED!"

N: "*laughs* Wow, Sarah. Hey, I'm gonna go. I was about to shower and start on my essay but got distracted."

S: "Alright, Nazzy. Love ya, see you tomorrow!"

N: "See ya."

Nazz hangs up and smiles a bit before grabbing what she needs to shower. She gets undressed and pauses when she looks in the mirror, the sight of her stretch marks haunting her as she traces each one. Her eyes linger on her hips, inner thighs, and the side of her chest at the marks that she wishes she could rip off. Nazz exhales deeply and steps away from the mirror, turning the water on and ignoring the urge to cry as she washes away the day.

Marie reads Edd's response to the song, laughing a bit as he complains about the lack of the title being included in the lyrics. She continues to let him rant and ramble as she finishes with her bird feeder, watching the stars she can see from their little house by the trailer park they used to live in. Marie hums softly as she reads Edd's numerous long texts, unaware of Lee listening by the doorframe. She sighs before walking away from her sister's room. May looks into the hallway and sees her oldest sister, tilting her head with a slight grin.

"What's up, Lee?" "Not now, May." "What's wrong?" "I said not now." "You can talk to me, you know." "It's just... What's so special about Marie that she gets her song? Huh? I looked after you two more than anyone and it took all six marks to learn that my soulmate was Eddy while she's three marks in and has a song?! How's that fair?!" "Lee... Eddy was right in front of you telling you that he was yours and you refused to accept that. Marie is open to it being anyone while you closed yourself off from The One. Maybe you did have a song, you just chose to ignore it because you didn't want Eddy to hear it too." May shrugs and returns to her room, leaving Lee to stand in place for a moment before retreating to her own room.
