I am black
But I see, I hear and I feel the pain of the injustices daily

But I'm someone's daughter/son
Someone's sister/brother
Someone's lover

I am black
But my heart is not black
I need love just like you
I need support
I need acceptance

I am black
I'm not a sinner
I'm not sick, and not confused
It's just my skin color that looks different
I'm not a complete stranger in this world
