Chapter Twenty-One: Rescued

** Reese's POV: **

I've been keeping my distance from Kenslea, trying to respect her wishes and let her be happy with Tad. No matter how much i wanted her, her happiness is all that matters to me. And even if that happiness isn't with me, i just have to accept it.

Although i'm just an hour away i haven't been around, i've been keeping up with my sister though so i know her and Tadley are now engaged and that she's really happy. As wrong as this is, i've even been asking Cindy how she is since they are friends now. I had just asked Cindy how Kenslea was when i got a cryptic text back that worried me.

*Text Messages*

Cindy- Don't worry, soon you won't have to worry about her.

*End Text Messages*

The longer i sat there and read it the more worried i got. I decided to drive over to her house to keep her from doing anything stupid. I practically sped the entire way there, i just needed to get there as fast as possible, and an hour wasn't soon enough. When i pulled up and was walking up towards the door it flung open and Kenslea stumbled her way down the stairs straight into my chest.

She was covered in blood, and she looked like she had been through hell. What the fuck did Cindy do to her?!

"No! Please, please, no more!" She sobbed, then she just passed out. I caught her just before she could slam into the ground and i began panicking. Oh God! I pulled out my phone and dialed 911, i told them everything that just happened and gave them the address. I stayed with Kenslea the whole time trying to get her to open her eyes for me but she wouldn't.

It was about fifteen minutes later when i heard the sirens blaring and she was taken out of my arms and i told the officer about the text i got and that i was here to keep Cindy from doing anything stupid and that's when Kenslea stumbled out. They went inside and then came out with Cindy and Tadley's ex Nikki in handcuffs.

"Babe! You're back!" Cindy cheered happily, like she hadn't just fucking tortured someone.

"Don't fucking talk to me, you psychotic bitch! How could you do that to her?!" I demanded angrily. It doesn't matter that it happened to Kenslea, nobody deserves to go through that.

"BECAUSE OF YOU! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, IF YOU WOULD HAVE JUST STAYED THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER AND HADN'T LEFT ME NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!" Cindy screamed out angrily.

"She doesn't get to have everything! She doesn't get to take everything away from us and then continue on her merry little way!" Nikki exclaimed just as angrily. They were put in the back of an ambulance and i just ran to my car and went to Kenslea's house. I have to tell Tad what happened and where she is!

When i got there and the door opened i noticed that everyone was here. Everyone.

"Reese? What are you doing here? Why are you covered in blood?" My sister asked me worriedly as she looked me up and down trying to find an injury.

"You guys need to get to the hospital, NOW! I got a cryptic text from Cindy so i went over to her house to stop her from doing anything stupid and when i got there Kenslea was stumbling out of the house covered in blood. She passed out and was unresponsive when they took her to the hospital. I came over here to tell Tadley he needs to go there now!" I explained. Everyone went into a panic and started running towards the cars but i stopped Tadley before he completely walked out.

"Tad..... It was Cindy and Nikki...." I informed him. I watched as his face went completely white as a sheet of paper. He thanked me, and then to my surprise invited me to ride with him to the hospital.
