"Ngayon pala labas ng trainees, 'no?" Aria said when I sat on our table.
It had been five days since the trainees entered Mira HQ. Limang araw na rin kaming stress dahil sa unexplainable deaths na nangyayari.
"If they ever get out alive," sabi ko. Tinignan naman ako ng masama ni Aria at ng boyfriend nito na si Ridge.
"Huwag ka nga magsalita ng ganyan, Adara! Nagpapakaba ka, eh!" sita ni Aria.
I just rolled my eyes and started to eat my meal.
"Pero alam niyo, grabe selos ko sa trainees ngayon. Imagine, five days na training lang tapos mapapasama na sila sa Skeld," reklamo ni Ridge.
"In need nga daw kasi ng astronauts," sagot ni Aria.
"Eh, bakit hindi na lang tayo ang pinapunta?"
"Manahimik ka nga! Ingay nitong inggiterong 'to," sita ko.
"Ang sungit na naman nitong apoy na 'to," inis na sabi ni Ridge.
"Inggitero pa rin 'tong mukhang lupang 'to," I fired back.
"Seriously? Talagang nag-aaway na naman kayo," someone said from behind. I didn't look at who it was because based on his voice, it is none other than my best friend River.
He sat beside me and placed his tray on the table.
"Pagsabihan mo nga yung girlfriend mo na huwag akong pestehin!" sumbong ni Ridge.
"I'm not his girlfriend."
"She's not my girlfriend." We said in unison.
I just rolled my eyes and diverted my gaze to my food.
"Dara, you forgot," River said, handing me a yogurt cup.
"Thanks, Riv," I said, smiling.
"I don't get it," Aria said, making Riv and me look at her. "Sure ba kayo na magbest friend lang kayo?"
"Yeah, why?" River answered.
"Eh, yung concern levels and everything pang magjowa," sabi ni Aria.
River and I have been best friends ever since we were little. We met back in kindergarten school and have been inseparable since. Dahil nga sobrang close at komportable namin sa isa't isa, akala nila may relasyon kami.
To be honest, I did like River but I'm sure that he doesn't feel the same way which is why I just buried that feeling in the back of my head. Mahirap magconfess lalo na kapag alam mong wala siyang pagtingin sayo so para makeep lang namin yung current standing namin sa isa't isa, nanahimik ako.
He is the only guy that I would be afraid of confessing. I was known for being straightforward with my feelings. Kapag nagkakagusto ako sa lalaki ay ako pa mismo ang aamin dito but River's case is different.
That was before though. I don't like River anymore.
"You know, we're not together. Magkaibigan lang talaga kami," I said, stressing the word 'magkaibigan'.
