January 15, 2020.
That day... the day when everything started.
It was a sunny and hot day in Goldenland. It seemed that every single one of the 50,000 habitants of the city were outside, walking around and chatting. Of course, this could never be a coincidence: it was the city's 100 year anniversary. We're the only town in this perfect island called Goldenland as well.
Blake, Reece and George were at Goldenland's main hotel: Gregory's. It was a four-star hotel with one special thing: the tenth and last (highest) floor. Because of some famous and rich people who visit our city – because of our privileged location in Europe, with one of the prettiest beaches in the world –, the last floor wasn't like the other regular floors and rooms. It was like a three-suite apartment with its own kitchen, living room and dining room. It was insane! Everyone dreamed of staying in there for one single night, but it was always way too expensive.
The whole town was excited when New Hope Club got spotted at my favorite (and the best) cafe of Goldland: The Bentley. It was a modern, perfect, aesthetic and cute cafe in the city's centre, what we call the south area. Our most beautiful beach is located there: Cantinho do Paraíso. This island was discovered by a Brazilian expedition, my godfather's mother was the "chief" of it: Maria Luísa. She is the bravest woman I've ever heard of!
So my family here is pretty... famous, I'd say. That's the best part of living here, besides the dreamy beach, hot boys and The Bentley. Actually, I was there — at the cafe — when my biggest dream came true. I saw Blake, George and Reece coming in. They were laughing together, it looked like George said something really funny and they went straight to a table, smiling and waving at all the fans who recognised them. I'm happy to admit that all "Goldenlanders" (as we call ourselves) are really polite and no one harassed them.
My heart was beating faster than it ever did. Reece's sight crossed mine and I waved in a shy way with a huge smile on my face. They could clearly see that I was their biggest fan. I just came back to myself when I heard my name.
— Sol! Wake up! Jessica's calling your name for ages. Your order is ready. — said my bestie, Emma, while she was laughing.
She was the only one who truly knew how happy, speechless and surprised I was at that moment. I just got up, got my order and heard the sweetest voice I've ever heard in my entire life.
— Hey. It seems like we ordered the same thing. I saw you smiling and waving and just thought I'd come to say hi, how are you? — Blake said with an irresistible smile on his pretty and perfect face.
— Hey, Blake... I'm doing great... really great. I'm just so happy to meet you, to be honest. What about you?? — I couldn't even hide my excitement, I was almost shining from happiness. Then, he laughed and kept on talking.
— I'm happy to meet someone as happy as you too. Well, I'm doing amazing. This town... there's something magic about it, isn't there?
— Yes! But you'll only see the real magic if you visit our prettiest beach, Cantinho do Paraíso. Have you been there? — I asked with excitement and, then, started drinking my iced coffee.
— Actually, the boys and I were thinking about going there tomorrow. What are you up to tomorrow?
— I don't have anything to do at all. I was just going to go for a walk or something.
— So... could you be our guide and come with us? We're staying at Gregory's hotel. — He smiled and ran his fingers through his hair.
— It would be a pleasure! Woah, am I dreaming? — I laughed and he did the same thing.
— Blake, unfortunately, we gotta go. Our orders are here and the manager wants to call us in fifteen. — Reece came by and whispered that to Blake. One second after it, he looked at me and smiled — Hey, how are you? It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Reece. — He offered his hand to me as a greeting.
— Of course I know who you are! It's my pleasure, really, I'm Sol. — I shook hands with him and heard his delicious laugh.
— Well, I might be guilty... but I overheard you guys and I just wanted to say I'm really looking forward to spending some time with you tomorrow. Thanks for accepting the role of being our guide. — Once again, he and I laughed.
— Seriously, this is a dream coming true... I might be your guide for one day, but you guys are my hope.
— Then... you're our hope tomorrow. — George approached us with a smile and they went back to the hotel after a little chat.
Unbelievable. Crazy. I wasn't dreaming. I WASN'T DREAMING. Of course, Emma overheard the whole conversation and, right next to her, Karla did the same thing. My two besties were so happy that, when they left, they just hugged me really hard.
— THIS WAS UNBELIEVABLE, SOL! — They said at the exact same time.
— I know, right???? I'm still not sure if I'm awake.
But I got a little worried when Karla looked at me. She seemed to be worried or anxious about something.
— But... um... you know we promised to take care of Emma's house and her little tomorrow brother to her dad. He's going to work all day because of New Hope Club's concert. The house is too big for just the two of us and there are her siblings... I'm sorry, bae, but I don't really know what to do.
— That's the bad part of being the daughter of the stadium's owner. — Emma sighed.
— Holy sh... — I whispered and closed my eyes. I couldn't believe that was happening.
