Barriers - Taehyung || Complete

Ch. 28

Taehyung POV

These last few days have been very stressful, but also exciting. We have been rehearsing non-stop at the venue and the staff has been setting up the stage while we rehearse. I haven't seen my girlfriend in a few days and I also haven't heard from her. I'm missing her like crazy and I can't wait to see her tomorrow when it's finally our concert. 

We were on a break from rehearsals and resting backstage. Some of the guys were getting their wardrobe fittings, and I was sitting on a couch with Jungkook. 

"Hey, how's y/n?" Jungkook asked. 

I shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't heard from her since we landed. I figure she's too busy with her parents."

"Is she going to ask them about moving?" 

"I don't know. She said she would but I know she's really nervous to tell them."

"You think she'll tell them about you and her?"

"I don't know, Jungkook!" I raised my voice getting annoyed. "What is this, twenty questions? She didn't know what she was going to say to her parents so what makes you think I'll know?"

Jungkook pouted and slumped his shoulders. "I'm sorry."

I sighed. "No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I know you're just curious. Trust me, I'm curious too. I really hope she'll decide to move but I just want her to happy. A part of me hopes she makes that decision because of me. Does that make me selfish?"

"I don't think it does. You love her and it's obvious she loves you. But there's a lot of other things she has to think about. We're talking about moving her whole life to Korea. She has to find a school to go to, learn a new language, and...cope with having your relationship a secret."

I softly chuckled. "Namjoon said the same thing the other day. If she does decide to move, then that means our relationship becomes more serious and it could be dangerous to all of us. If we keep our relationship a secret, it may burden her. If our relationship gets found out, not only does it affect the group, she could also be in danger by saesang fans. Or I can publicly admit my relationship and get her extra security."

"See, there's a lot of factors going into this. If you're thinking this, who knows what she's thinking?"

"I'll tell you one thing," a female voice said making us turn our heads. Nam Sung sat down next to us. "She's an amazing person who deserves to be happy."

"Noona," Jungkook said smiling. 

She pet the top of Jungkook's head and smiled. "In the two months that she has worked for me, I have found her more of a friend than an assistant. It would be awesome if she moved after her internship is done but I think we've done all we can to tell her our opinions. She promised she would talk to her parents about it and I believe her. All we can do is wait until tomorrow when she comes back. But you know just as well as I do, Taehyung, that it's not going to be easy for her. This internship and relationship is easy because she thought it would be short term. But thinking about long term, it may take a toll on her."

I keep hearing the same thing and it starting to weigh on me that y/n moving would be great at first but could lead to it all crashing down because of our relationship. 

"I know this isn't what you want to hear, Taehyung," she continued. "But you need to be prepared for both scenarios."

I frowned and nodded. I was starting to understand now. I couldn't be selfish. Whatever happens with her decision I need to be able to look her in the eye and tell her my wishes for her to be happy, wherever that may be. 

Nam Sung groaned and covered her mouth. I looked over to her. "Are you okay, noona?"

She took a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just a little nauseous. I'm probably just not used to this air yet," she stood up and pat my and Jungkook's shoulders. "I'll see you guys later."

After break was done everyone resumed rehearsals until nighttime hit. When rehearsals were done, we headed back to our hotel. Jungkook and I were sharing a room so we went up together. 

Upon entering the room, I finally got a message from y/n.

Y/n: Hey! Sorry I wasn't able to reach you these last few days I've been so busy with my parents. But they are so excited to meet you and everyone else. I also have something to tell you when I see you. I miss you. I love you. Good night <3

I smiled at the text and then put my phone away. I rested on my bed and put one arm over my head. 

"She finally texted me." I told Jungkook.

"Oh, yeah? What did she say?"

"She's excited for tomorrow and her parents will be there. She also said she has something to tell me."

"That's promising. Hopefully it's good news." Jungkook said getting in the covers of his bed. 

"Yeah," I softly said. "Hopefully."
