Bakugo
The next couple of days I was in a daze. Everyone could tell that I wasn't being myself, but every time they asked if I was okay, I just brushed them off and told them I was fine. Even Deku asked, and when I answered him, I didn't even have the strength to yell at him.
"I'm fine, nerd," I muttered, shouldering my bag.
He looked worried but didn't say anything else. Later that day, I went to the hospital to visit Kirishima and Hikari.
Kirishima was doing better by the day, and the doctors said that by the end of this week, he would probably be released. I was happy for him, but Hikari still wasn't even awake. That's what was putting a damper on my mood.
I went into the hospital and one of the nurses greeted me.
"Hello, Bakugo," she said, smiling. "Here to visit room 113 and 116 again?"
"Got that right, lady," I said, walking past her and down the hallway.
I was only person in the hospital who visited everyday. The nurses and doctors already knew my name.
I came to room 113, knocked, and let myself in. Kirishima was reading a book and he put it down and grinned when he saw me.
"Hey, Bakubro!" He exclaimed.
I was already starting to hate the nickname, but if he wanted to call me that, I wasn't going to stop him.
"Hey, Kiri," I said, setting my bag down and pulling a chair over to his bed. "Are you feeling better?"
He nodded. "I'm feeling great! What about you?"
I shrugged and studied him. Everyday, more and more of his bandages got taken off. I could see his face clearly now.
"It's because she's in a coma, right?" He asked quietly, staring into my eyes.
I broke our eye contact and looked down. "Yeah... but really, Kiri, I don't want to involve you in my stupid problems when you have issues of your own."
"Are you kidding?" He exclaimed. "If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm your man! I don't mind seeing your true colors every once in a while."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, shark face."
He pouted. "Aw, not that nickname again! I'm telling you, Bakubro, I really like Kiri. It's better than all the other nicknames you've given me."
"Tch, I'll call you what I want," I retorted, crossing my arms.
"And I'll call you Bakubro! Like, Bakugo and bro mixed together!" Kirishima said with a big smile.
"I don't like it," I said flatly.
He was about to say something when I held up my hand, stopping him. "You can call me it until you get outta here," I said. "This is your once in a lifetime hospital pass for nicknames for me. Use it wisely."
He grinned, showing his pointed teeth. "I will!"
I sighed and put my head in my hands.
"Uh, Bakubro? You okay?" He asked. "If you want I can stop calling you Bakubro..."
"It's not that," I snapped, looking at the ground. "It's just... her. It hurts me to even think about her."
I felt arms wrap around me, and I looked up to see him standing next to me, hugging me.
"What the he** are you doing?" I asked.
"You looked like you needed a hug!" He exclaimed.
"You're not suppose to be outta your bed, g** da** it!" I yelled. "Get back in bed, sh**** hair!"
