"Please? " Kaede begged, making Shuichi sigh.

"I won't pick up your kid. Isn't Maki free?"

"No."

"Okay I will do it just this once."

"Fine, fine..." Shuichi went to his car and sighed. The things I do for my best friend...

"Hello! What may I do for you?" Shuichi stopped in his tracks. A cute boy with green hair stood there.

"U-Uh well-"

"Here to pick up your child? I never saw you come in y'know."

"That's because it's my friend's child!" panicked Shuichi

"Are you sure you aren't a parent or guardian?"

"Y-Yep! The kid's name is Peko! A-And uh-"

"Shuichi!" He turned around to see the little girl.

"Well uh... there's the kid. I will see you around, maybe?"

"U-Uh, sure! Yeah! Okayyeahbye-" Shuichi quickly picked the kid up and walked to the car.

"Is there anything wrong?" Peko asked.

"NOPE not at ALL!"

Yeah. That's an obvious lie.

Shuichi isn't the best with kids, or people in general. And seeing that boy didn't help either. He just wasn't fit for social interaction, he knew it too.

"Where's mommy?"

"She's busy, I will drop you off, don't worry."

"Okay!"

"...do you know that boy that was talking to me."

"Mr. Rantaro?" Rantaro?

"Is that his name?"

"Ah, thank you Shuichi! Sorry I couldn't pick you up..." Kaede crouched down to pick up the child.

It was Shuichi's phone. Unknown number.

"I gotta go, plus have to answer this. It was nice seeing you. Bye."

As Shuichi answered, he expected a case call but instead all he got was...

"Kaito, you will NOT expect what happened at work today!"
