I was about to walk over to Sweet Butter, the cafe right around the corner from my house. The only place I know and love that I can peacefully do photography at, at 4 in the morning. I bring my puppy, Fawn, of course. She's a little brown lab. She has a growing disorder so she's always going to be as small as she is. So small that you can fit double of her into a purse.
As Luna walked to sweet butter with her puppy in her baby soft skin arms, she got a call from her close friend, Max. Max is a dirty blonde stud always to be found in a white see through tee-Otherwise known as a Simon Cowell Shirt with the cleavage of course-torn up jeans, Rayban sunshades, peach fuzz, and a stunning smile. He makes bundles of money through screenwriting some of Ellen episodes.
Luna picked up her Blackberry. "Maxy." She spoke in a serious tone.
"Luny toon." He spoke into his IPhone 7, playfully. He had latest technology items before they even were to be heard of. He sometimes pulled strings along the lines of that for Luna.
"You called ME. What's doing?"
"I'm drinking some coffee. I can't fall asleep."
"So you think coffee will help that situation?"
"Luna Winona Myer."
"Uh oh." Luna knew that max only said her full name when he had bad news. Or when he was mad at her.
"There's the good news. Then comes the bad news. And the ugly. Well the bad and the ugly are the same but I really wanted to say that. Just to lighten the mood some."
"Max, my anxiety. It's at a 6. Meet me at sweet butter."
"I would but I'm packing for Santa Barbara. I'm visiting my half sister this weekend. Abigail, remember her?"
"The one with 3 plus toes and skin as white as snow?"
"That's the one."
"Shes lovely. News. Now."
"Well you know Sherry and Posey?"
"Do I know them? They're so close to me. Best friends, along with you always. Why, are they okay?"
"Mhmm."
"Max. Talk to me. Get it over with. I'm at a 7.8 now. Anxiety wise."
"They don't want to be friends with you anymore. I overheard their conversation from an innocent butt dial." A tear strolls down Luna's cheek. She lets out a whimper. "Oh honey."speaks max. "I'm so sorry. They said that you're too sensitive and frail for them to have to worry and deal with. They say they only want to be friends with rebels and that you're too innocent for them. They suck chunky right now."
"I just...I can't bare to even think they would say something like that about me. I've known them forever. Since kindergarten."
"Honey is there anything I can do for you?"
"And they know that Lisi ditched me too. Do I have human repellent Spray on that I'm not aware of? I can't face anyone at sweet butter right now. I'm going back home."
So that's what she did. She went back home. She put everything down and leaped onto her couch. She sat up. She dialed max. "Pick up, pick up. I need you so bad at a time like this."
"Luna?"
"Maxi pad, you picked up."
"Always. Anything for you."
"Like driving me to Posey and Sherrys house so we can talk this whole thing out with them?"
"Be ready in five minutes."
Luna smiled big. She loved her maxy. Best guy friend she could have. He always makes her warm heart feel better when all is not well.
