"Come on, August. You gotta catch up!" Ebony says excitedly. She and her brother August are walking through some thick woods with plenty of bushes and branches blocking their path. Their only source of light is the flashlight on August's phone, which is still barely enough to light up the area.
August, of course, is not happy about the whole situation. He doesn't want to have to help his sister with her stupid paranormal blog, but she has some dirt on him and threatens to tell if he doesn't help her. This all seems too extreme to him for some blog about things that don't even exist. He just hopes that they can get what they need so they can go back home already.
"I think we're almost there. I can just sense the ghost's presence already!" Ebony claims with joy.
"Ok, that isn't creepy at all," August says with sarcasm.
His sister wants to check this place out specifically because she has heard the legend of the Doll-Maker's ghost that used to own the workshop they're heading to. As cliche as it sounds to August, Ebony is absolutely obsessed with it. As soon as she heard that there was no real proof of the Doll-Maker ghost's existence, she prepared everything she needed in order to sneak out in the middle of the night to find evidence for her blog.
It's not like August has anything against paranormal investigators, he just doesn't want to be involved in any investigations himself, especially with his sister of all people, who is known to go above and beyond in order to catch any supernatural activity.
"Come on, little bro, chin up. We're going to be the first to catch this ghost that has existed for centuries," Ebony states. "Can you believe this place actually existed since the early 1800s?"
"If this place really existed for that long, then how come nobody has torn the workshop down?" August questions, skeptically.
"Buh-doy! Cause of the curse. Obviously the ghost of Mr. Vogel is haunting the place, getting rid of anyone who trespasses," Ebony states.
"The fact that you find that obvious concerns me," August responds in disbelief.
"Honestly, you just need to relax. All we need to do is look for some good, creepy stuff to take pictures of and maybe find the ghost of Mr. Vogel along the way," Ebony explains.
"Even if we do see this 'ghost', it's not like we can take any photographic evidence. Spirits can't show up on cameras," August claims.
"Don't be silly, there have been plenty of photographs with ghosts in them," Ebony states.
"Yeah, edited photos," August says.
"Well, Debbie Downer, we're just going to have to see when we find him, won't we?" Ebony taunts.
"Psh, whatever," August speaks with annoyance. What a waste of his Saturday. Trespassing on someone else's property for the sake of some stupid investigation.
