I turned my tiny and boxy car off the main road, deciding to use the small, unpaved secondary road instead. I was already groggy and moody and the last thing I needed was to be stuck in traffic.

I messed around with the radio before giving up and turning it off altogether, sappy and cringing songs were playing on all the stations.

Seeing that it was only 7 in the morning, the road was practically empty. Most people avoided the road anyways, because it was longer. The peace and quiet was refreshing, maybe it was worth the longer drive.

The ringing of my phone broke my ten-minute relaxing silence, I chose to ignore it. I was only in the mood to have human interaction when I had gulped down a cup of deliciously hot and strong black coffee. I skipped my coffee this morning because I was in a rush. I was starting to regret that decision.

After the third ring, I snatched up my phone in irritation. I answered the call without bothering to look at the caller ID.
" I ordered waxy white and threadbare green flowers but it's all messed up" I recognized the musical and slightly noisy voice immediately. It belonged to Mrs Auburn, a fussy French woman with beautiful, silver hair. She was one of the best customers we had because she tended to overspend.

"I wanted it exquisitely composed but it's terrible and hideous" she complained. I pinched my nose in tiredness, already feeling a headache forming. I was not ready for this.

"I'm sorry about that, I'll call for a replacement right away" I said in a positive cool voice.

"I need them in less than an hour so make it quick, maybe I'll just carry my business somewhere else" she muttered before switching off the phone. I exhaled loudly, highly irritated.

I dialed my brother, driving slower. He picked at the second ring.

"You annoying shit! You messed up the order again!" I accused, my irritation clear in my words.

"what??" he asked confused. His voice was deep and gruffy as though he had just woken up from sleep.

"I just received a call from Mrs Auburn.... again" I hissed.

"Shit" he said now sounding fully awake.

"What did you do?? Or what didn't you do" I asked. My head had started to ache already. This was the third time he was messing an order this week, and the second time he had messed one of Mrs Auburn's.

"Apparently, the candle white flower I gave her was eggshell white. In my defense, white is white." he muttered. I would have laughed if I was not soo annoyed.

"Waxy white" I corrected.

"Yeah whatever" he said absentmindedly. I shook my head even if though he couldn't see me.

"Just replace them and give her before nine" I said.

"Uhhhh" he drawled. I knew an excuse was coming after that. "I can't. I have soccer practice by 8"

"Are you serious right now?" I asked in disbelief.

" you know we have a big game coming up, I can't ditch this practice. Just help me out" he pleaded

"please" he begged. My resolve weakened. Why couldn't I be a bad person and say no??

"Fine" I said in defeat

"Thanks Teagan, I owe you big time" he said, sounding too jubilant. Lazy idiot!

I cut the call and threw my phone on my passenger seat, my mood already dampened. I needed to stop and replan my day, have an idea of what the hell I'm doing. I slammed into my break, not bothering to check behind me.
