"Minnie, no. I will not go with you and Jin to that shitty birthday concert," Taehyung tries to kindly tell his bestfriend that he's uninterested in going to Jeon Jeongguk's birthday concert. He has a past with the idol, yet he never told Jimin and Seokjin. He figured it was for the best, anyways. He doesn't want the two to change their perspective on the idol.

"Please? I already bought the tickets!" Jimin pouts cutely, grabbing Taehyung by the shoulder and shaking him. "No," his friend says, his face emotionless while Jimin continues to play with him. "Why do you hate him so much?" Taehyung froze, his heart cracked a bit, the painful memories sliding in the cracks once again.

"I-I.. just.." Taehyung stutters, his tongue tied. "You..?" Jimin sat opposite to Taehyung with his legs crossed.

"You wouldn't understand.." he quietly mutters. "What?" Jimin raised his eyebrows in a clear confusion. Due to Taehyung's muttering, he didn't hear it clearly. "I-It's nothing. You have to go. It's getting late," Taehyung grabs his bestfriend's arm and drags him out the house while Jimin stumbles.

"W-What?"

"Goodnight, Minnie. I love you," Taehyung gently, yet forcefully, pushes the confused Jimin out his house. "Uh.. goodnight, Tae? I love you too," Jimin answers back from the outside, even though he had absolutely no idea what was happening.

Once Taehyung heard Jimin's footprints fading off, he dropped to the floor, his hands cupping his mouth. He tried to remain calm, yet before he could comprehend his feelings, tears slid down his cheeks. Taehyung was ventilating by now, he had trouble breathing whenever he cried. The only way he can calm down quickly is when someone plays with his hair. It was what Jeongguk used to-

Shit. He shouldn't be thinking of him now.

"Fuck you.." Taehyung muttered. He intended to say that to curse at Jeongguk, although it came out as a curse to himself. Deep down, Taehyung blamed himself for everything, even for things he didn't cause. It was the only way he could answer the questions that were left unanswered. When Jeongguk left, he had no one else left to blame other than himself. He couldn't contact Jeongguk by then, he deleted his number and made sure that Taehyung is never able to contact him ever again.

You can just imagine the shock he had when he found out that his ex was debuting as a soloist.

Taehyung was hurt. Did Jeongguk really think Taehyung wouldn't understand his own boyfriend that he wants to pursue his career? Taehyung isn't that selfish. If pursuing his career made Jeongguk happy, then he would let him. Yes, it would hurt... but by doing that, they would be able to part their ways without a heavy chest and a guilty conscious.

It would be a happy ending for all.

Except, it wasn't a happy ending. Instead, he's running to his room to cry. No one can comfort him. His cousin was out grocery shopping and he's pushed away his own bestfriend. It was his own fault anyways.

"I-I'm so... fucking... tired," Taehyung cries out more as he gasped for air, he was suffocating. He needed someone right now, so... so badly. Taehyung hugs his pillow tighter, tricking himself into thinking that it was someone. He was desperate. After they broke up, he tried dating other people to fill this empty void in him... it was no surprise that it didn't work.

Jeongguk set up such a high standard for him that in every person he dated, he kept on comparing what they lacked to what Jeongguk had. Part of him still held on to that silly promise he and Jeongguk made; to stay together forever. But, he knew that was just one big lie.
