INTRO>>
Everyone thought it was strange when he walked into class, on the fifth week of the spring semester.
He was wearing dark colors, but not too dark. Not a problem, since his marine blue eyes brought a interesting sense of color to his appearance. He looked to be at least a few inches over six feet. He walked slow, kept his eyes on where he was going. His jawline was perfectly sculpted below his blank expression. His dirty blonde hair, which he every so slowly ran a hand through, was slightly unkempt, his posture slightly bent.
One could tell that everyone was gawking without even looking around. All of the attention in the room was extroverted from the latest gossip, and suddenly tossed to him. He reached the teacher's desk and slid an unfolded half sheet of paper her way. A few words were spoken, but I couldn't make out exactly what was said, due to my placement on the opposite side of the room.
I did notice, however, that the mystery boy gestured in what seemed like my direction. An accidental moment of eye contact cause me to snap my head back to my desk, quickly unzipping my backpack and trying not to focus on the thought of the boy talking about me.
In what seemed like a hundredth of a millisecond, I felt a presence as a humanly shadow seemed to swallow my entire existence. I felt as if i were a delicate fish, being pulled into the deep ocean by the claws of a gigantic crab, never to see the sun's light again.
I looked up.
"Hey, she gave me permission to sit here, if that's okay with you." The mystery boy said with a small smirk.
His voice gave a soft rumble throughout the room with each word he spoke.
Suddenly, this dark ocean crab turned into a more delightful being, pulling me up instead of down.
I nodded slightly. "I guess so." I spoke warily, gently pushing my bag to my side of the table.
He smiled.
His white gleaming teeth sparkled, reflecting positive vibes.
"Thanks," "I'm Evan, by the way."
"Maycee." I said, shooting back a small smile.
Little did I know, I would be spending a lot more time with this boy than what's practical.
