Eternal Resort has by far been my favorite resort in my life. This comes with a lot more weight them most. For an immortal, if something is the best you've had in your life then whatever in question has managed to top centuries of experiences and places. The reason I love the resort so much is they don't tell my secret. I've been coming here for a few hundred year ever since my second visit! I came here with my boyfriend at the time, some cute farmers son, changed his whole world! He never imagined a paradise would be achievable on Earth. He was one of the cuter ones in my memory, always dressed to his best and polite as can be. We spent a few weeks here before he had to return home to tend to the farm.
It broke my heart to see him go but he thought it would be best if I didn't return home with him. Did I have some influence in that decision? Perhaps but we were together for a few years at the time and the village was starting to grow boring and out of it's cute persona. I was drawn to the country side, grown tired of the busy city life. It was enjoyable but grew boring faster than anticipated. Lazing by the pool side I think about the times I've had and all the partners I've brought here. I enjoy bringing small town people to the slice of paradise so they have a chance to experience the finer things in life. Something that always failed to be shaken off was the disgust towards the treatment of the lower classes. Why should wealth define a persons quality? Some of the best people I met were lowly farmers or market merchants. Wealth doesn't affect everyone but it does a majority. I enjoyed when my dear Maria came with me.
She was a upper class Italian designers daughter in the mid 1800's. We dances, sang, adventured and swam off every coast of the island. She let me experience receiving love. Men love to receive but tend to forget to give. Maria, she always made sure I knew I was important. She treated me like a queen and I will never forget my feelings for her. She was the first love I broke the rules for. Every time I left the island I would track her down, check in and make sure she is doing well. She married a man her father chose which broke my heart. On her wedding day she cried but not of happiness. As she birthed children for her husband the spark in her eye would dim more and more. After ten years she was a shell of the woman I fell in love with. It wasn't long after her youngest turned eighteen she started falling sick. She lost the shining glow to her skin and the fire in her eyes completely.
I made my way into her house, past her servants and family to her bedroom. Opening her big door I let myself into her room. Laying under a mountain of blankets was the women I haven't spoken to in years. I slowly approach her bed, as not to stir her. She looks like death is just waiting at the door for her. Her cheeks, once flush with color now are sunken in. Her smooth skin lost all warmth and comfort. Sitting in the chair by her bed I take her frail hand in mine.
"Oh Maria, I've missed you." I wisher, my voice caught in my throat. "All the memories and adventures we've had, I'll never forget them or you!" The tears start welling up in my eyes as our time flashes in my minds eye. Dropping my head I let the tears fall freely. I feel a slight tighten on my hand and I raise my head to see the most gorgeous blue eyes.
"Minnie, you came." Maria croaks out, a small smile starting to spread on her frail face.
"Of course I came. I wouldn't let you leave without saying goodbye." I laugh out, holding her hand a little tighter in mine.
"Oh Minnie, you look the exact same as the day I left." Her eyes start to glaze over as I see her try and comprehend the reality unfolding so close to her death.
"I can't age. I'm not allowed to take a forever partner but am granted time with lovers. I'm breaking all the rules but I frankly don't care. I will face an eternal punishment if it meant one more moment with you." The tears won't stop falling by now, Maria's eyes starting to mist up as well. " I kept tabs on you, saw you get marred, introduce all your beautiful children to the world, get your own farmhouse like you always talked about."
