It was a snowy/rainy, cold night on December 24th, 1975. Carson Holbrook was going to ToyMart to pick up some last minute Christmas presents for his kids Cameron, 10, Jake, 8 and Scarlett, 5. By ToyMart, there is a heavily wooded area. In the middle of that area is a frozen pond. The killer waited by ToyMart to lure Carson into the woods. Once Carson came out of ToyMart with a big bag of toys, the killer lured Carson away from his car towards the frozen pond. He pushed Carson onto the frozen pond. Once Carson was down, the killer grabbed a huge icicle that was hanging from a tree and stabbed Carson 20 times with it. He grabbed an index card and wrote a note for the police with Carson's blood. It read, "Merry Christmas! Strike One! ;)" The next morning, two electrical workers came to fix a power line that had broken and they found Carson's body covered in frozen blood. They called 911 and said, "Help, there is dead male lying on the frozen pond in the woods by ToyMart." The police rushed over with the medical examiner. They lifted the body onto the strecher and when they did, the note fell out of the pocket. Officer Amy Evers picked it up. She was determined to find this killer and bring Carson Holbrook justice. (Quick author's note: I hope you are enjoying the story so far! Let me know if you want me to write chapter 2!)
