This took forever to finish, I'm sorry. It was longer but I cut it into two parts. The other half will be up soon. :)

Lucas sat at his desk with his hand rubbing his temple. He looked around at his office. The room was large, maybe too large to be just an office.

Everything in the room represented the affluence and prestiged influence that was his life. The five signed basketballs that people would bid millions over were resting in his library. Pictures of him with the President of the United States, the Queen of England and many other important people littered his window sill.

Even the mahogany desk that sat before him was carved from an ancient Indian Swietenia Humilis tree, a genuine Mahogany tree. It cost a fortune to produce and another fortune to deliver from India. Why he couldn't just get a regular mahogany desk from a furniture store in New York never crossed his mind. Everything he purchased had to be expensive or it wasn't worth it. Every picture frame that was in his office had to be with someone of extreme importance or it wasn't worth displaying.

He didn't care too much either. He had too much money and influence at his disposal. Money he didn't know what to do with and influence he abused. If not for the purchase of Indian Mahogany desk's and the displaying of important people in picture frames he wouldn't know what to do with his vast fortune or influence.

But now he had Marilyn. Someone other than himself to spend his money on. Someone who deserved his influence to get whatever she wanted. Someone pure of heart who would give all that he had some meaning.

But it seems like he's ruined even that. He thought back on his confession to her. A confession, he now decided, would be better had it stayed in his mind.

No matter what he did he couldn't get the terrified look out of his face. The look of confusion, nervousness, disappointment and shock haunts him. Especially, her look of shock. It's been a while since anyone looked at him that way. It's been a while since anyone was shocked that he was capable of doing any evil.

But now the one woman who he loves the most can't stand the look of him. And she has every right. He told her he stabbed his father after all. If he really wanted a normal life why would those words ever leave his mouth?

How could he possibly have a normal life with her if he tells her all about himself. That's why he kept it a secret because her innocence and who he really is can not coincide. But what if he wants them too? What if he just wants to be honest.

The doors to his office swung open and in walked Luke. I'm having a situation." He announced strutting towards Lucas. Jane asked me out." He blurted.

Lucas raised his eyes in astonishment.

"Yea, I know. Curse these good looks. But who does she think she is? First, she makes the first move by kissing me in the elevator and now she wants to completely emasculate me by asking me out on a date?" He dropped the files on Lucas' desk and poured himself a glass of scotch.

"Do you want to go?" Lucas asked

He downed the liquid and looked at Lucas. "Duhh! I want to finish what we started in the elevator. But I don't know what she wants and that makes me nervous. I really think she's up to something."

"Well, it can't be that hard to figure out. She was always an open book."

Luke sat down in front of him and opened the files. "Let's hope she still is. Anyway, I have some information regarding BEAU. Laken and I have been to every press release and handled the reporters. I wrote a check for 6 million to help those who were injured and to the families of the deceased ones. Our stocks are still down but that may change within the next month. We don't have a report to give on Kenton's whereabouts. He hasn't tried reaching out to us so for now it's radio silence." Luke handed Lucas the report.
