'My sister asked me to invite you to come with us to the beach.' Imari almost choked on her tacos.
Imari swallowed her food before drinking water. 'She said that?' She signed to Beau.
Beau nodded at her. 'Bettina keeps on pestering me when I told her you had met my parents.'
Imari nodded slowly, processing what her boyfriend just said.
Is she nervous? Ofcourse.
When Ada was hired for the wedding, Imari doesn't get the chance to even congratulate and meet his sister. She was distracted, alright.
What would she say to her?
'Baby,' Beau snapped a finger on her face when she zoned out. 'You're getting nervous again. She will love you. In fact, she already does. From the way mom talked about you, Bettina was excited to meet you.'
Imari finally smiled when she heard that.
"When are we going?" Imari asked Beau before pecking his lips and stood up to stretch her body.
'Tonight..' Beau trailed as he followed through Imari's movement and held her waist. 'My pretty Imari.'
Imari laughed before poking his cheek. "My handsome Beau."
The night flew by and the two of them were ready for the trip.
The two of them got down to Imari's apartment when Bettina texted Beau, saying they were already parked outside.
As Imari went down, she couldn't help but feel nervous about meeting his sister.
She wants a good impression on her that's why she immediately plastered a smile on her face when she saw a beautiful and tall woman waving frantically at them across the apartment.
I guess it runs in the blood. Imari thought.
Bettina looked like the younger version of her mother, Cynthia.
The four of them went inside the van before the driver started the car. The two guys were up the front while Imari and Bettina stayed at the back.
"So, what's your intention for my baby brother?" Bettina asked quietly with a stern voice.
Imari got nervous even more.
"I love him, that's all. He was the most amazing man I met, after my deceased father." Imari muttered quietly so only the two of them will be able to hear what she said.
"Hmm," Bettina hummed as she scanned Imari, making the poor girl squirm under her gaze.
Suddenly, Bettina grinned at her. "I know you're the one for him."
Bettina suddenly laughed aloud when she saw the relief on Imari's face, causing the boys to turn around with a confused face.
When Bettina's husband, Jared, saw the frown on Imari's face, he shook his head.
"Hon, stop torturing the poor girl." Jared scolded.
Bettina pouted before turning to Beau who was glaring at her. She raised her both arms, indicating a surrender sign before sighing and hugging Imari out of nowhere.
"Break my brother's heart, then we will have a problem." Bettina whispered causing Imari to smile.
"I'd rather die than to hurt him, Bett." Imari whispered back causing Bettina to gasp.
"Oh wow, mom's right. You're lovely!" Bettina winked at her before pecking her cheeks.
The two guys shook their head, witnessing the change of mood of the woman in their life.
Ladies. Only they can understand each other. Both of them thought in their head.
