CHAPTER 40 - Condition

Maze's POV

Since school is over, I'm freeeee!

I'm glad dahil nakapagtapos na ako ng pag-aaral.

I'm on my way to D's Café kasi Kian and I will be having a date today. Hindi na ako nagpasundo sa kanya kasi I don't want him to go all the way here just to fetch me when D's Café is just near their house. Besides, I can go there naman. It's malapit lang din naman sa bahay namin. And pinayagan na ako nila mamá na magdrive ulit.

So yeah, I'm here already. I ordered a drink lang muna while waiting for my beloved.

I waited for about fifteen minutes before I received a message.

It's from Kian.

I cannot hide my disappointment after kong mabasa ang message niya.

He cannot come.

He is having an urgent meeting.

Gosh! Why do I want to cry? Cheer up Maxzielle! May susunod pa naman.

"Elle?" somebody called me. I looked up to see an unexpected acquaintance.

It's Kian's mother.

Tumayo naman ako to greet her. I should be polite. "Good afternoon po!" I cheerfully greeted. I cannot let her see the sadness in me. I have to hide every bit of it.

"Good afternoon din ija. Ikaw lang ba? Mag-isa ka lang?" Kian's mom. I don't know what to call her. I don't even know her name. But she's utterly beautiful!

"Yes po, for now. I'm waiting for your son." Umupo na kami. Kian's mom joined me. She also ordered a drink.

"You're waiting for Kian? Hindi ba niya sinabi sa'yo?"

"Sinabi po ang alin?" why is my heart beating so fast? Is there something wrong?

"Ah he didn't tell you. Anyway, let's not talk about that. Kamusta ka na ija? Matagal kitang hindi nakita."

"I'm doing great po," I said with a smile on my face.

"Just call me tita Rion," tita smiled.

"Ah okay po," I smiled back.

"About the day of your graduation, I'm sorry for acting like that. Nagulat lang talaga akong makita ka doon."

"It's okay po. I understand."

"Hmmm, you don't remember what happened?" tita asked with her eyebrows raised.

"Ah not yet po. Kian and my friends are helping me to retrieve those memories." I smiled awkwardly.

"Ganun ba? I hope you'll remember soon," tita Rion said with a smile on her face. She's mabait.

"Thank you po, tita Rion!"

"Elle ija, do you have time to spare?" tita asked.

"Yes po. I'm not busy naman. I'm free the whole afternoon."

"Thank goodness! Ija, can you help me with something? I cannot go there kasi I have an appointment at six." Oh, there's only fifteen minutes left before six. I should help her.

"Sure po tita, I will help you. What is it?" I asked, then I sipped my drink.

"Can you give this to my son? Naiwan kasi niya sa bahay. I'm afraid na baka hindi siya makapasok sa bahay. Umalis kaming lahat and he left his key," I smiled. My forgetful Kian.
