In a certain era, the lands flourished as nature graciously blessed the earth with its gifts. The breeze carried the smell of the soil and the sweet scent of flowers, indicating a new birth. The spring season was a mass favourite, bringing with it new hope as it filled life with colours. The artistic beauty of this world was enhanced by the azure sky reflecting on the crystal clear water as the people danced in joy, welcoming the spring. The peace and harmony was maintained by the Three Kingdoms--Aurora, Scintilla and Kalopsia-- who lived in mutual agreement to look after their people as one. The people loved and respected them too, after all they were never treated as inferior to the royal blood.
It was common for the princes and princesses of the Three Kingdoms to get married among each other with the goal of continuing the prosperity of their lands. The young princess of Aurora was set to marry the prince of Scintilla when they were both eighteen and the decision was made final after receiving the blessings from the village Elders. These Elders were the most experienced people among the Three Kingdoms, having seen all parts of life and excelling in every area of it. The Royals often took advice from them for decisions benefitting the people and they often sent their sons for training in warrior skills in the lap of nature.
All was going fine until the prince of Kalopsia, upon gaining the throne, set out on a mutiny to be the king of all the three kingdoms and of course, marry the beautiful princess of Aurora. It was as if a curse befell the land, the crops dried out and the people begged on their knees for mercy. The prince, Seth, paid no heed to warnings of the Elders, killing everyone who came in him and his goal. The rivers cried and the birds stopped chirping when Seth allegedly killed the unsuspecting King and Queen of Aurora in their chamber one night and subsequently set the palace on fire. Their son survived and barely managed to escape. No one knew what happened to Princess Aria, some say she died while other felts she escaped with her brother. It had been sixteen years since that fateful night and the hope of her return diminished over time. After all, the princess was sweet and delicate and the chances of her surviving alone outside her comfort zone were near zero. With a heavy heart, the people accepted that their beloved princess was dead.
Somewhere in the woods, hidden from the entire world, a young girl stood atop a hill, watching the village below. Her midnight black hair flowed with the wind, her creamy skin glowed in the moonlight and her dark eyes still reflected the fire sixteen years ago. Balling her hands into fists, Y/N vowed to avenge the death of her family. Putting her sword back into its sheath resting on her back, she turned and disappeared in the darkness of the night.
