[Eclis's POV]

And so, Eiros and the girl jumped and landed at the other side just before they could fall along with the dusty, old bridge.

They definitely made it and survived, but...

"Eclis!" Eiros cried as we both stretched our arms out towards each other, but in such a wide distance between our hands, he lacked enough time before he could react to us, more so than reaching out his hand to us.

I... I doubt we'd live from this fall, even if we land on water or something. It's just that high, we don't even know what lies below there...

No matter how far Eiros reached his hand for us, the space between us is still too broad. His hand just couldn't get to us...

But...

But...her hand did.

From behind Eiros, the shadow of the girl we had rescued from these canyons leapt and dashed to grab my wrist. As soon as she had grabbed my wrist, my hand and fingers quickly moved as if they have their own will. I quickly reacted by stabbing my nails into the girl's thick handcuffs.

With our hands grabbing one another, the little girl, with her other arm, tightly clawed the rocky wall between the abyss as she stopped us from falling down into the bottomless abyss. With her eyes widened as if expressing a shock, as if she didn't expect the action she just did, she single-handedly saved our lives, l-literally...!

With her sole right hand carrying the weight of both Frei and me, she began struggling between holding us up in the air, and from clinging tightly on the mountain wall.

"Guys, hold on!" without wasting any time now, Eiros rushed towards us and pulled the three of us upwards with his tight grip upon my elbow as well as Frei's trembling hand.

"Ready... Heave!"

The four of us got tugged upwards back to the cold surface and with that single, powerful pull, the four of us have successfully and finally made it out of the canyons in one piece...

We all laid ourselves down on the snowy ground right after, panting heavily and out of sync with our widely opened mouths. Frei is still trembling though, tightly embracing my arm. Her eyes were also soaked in tears. She was still in shock.
