Well, a few months ago it was decided that the classes of the university where I study would happen by remote teaching. It was also announced that each student could choose to attend the subjects by it or attend them only when the classroom lessons return. I chose the remote classes because I wanted to keep studying during this pandemic. No one knows when everything will return to normal way and I didn't want to just wait for it to happen.
So, it started. I was really in doubt about how all that was going to be. I confess that my expectations weren't so high because in my opinion studying in person is more productive, we can better interact with our teacher and colleagues, I don't feel always "stuck" at home studying, etc. However I have to admit that remote teaching have surprised me. I've noticed that there're many possibilities in it. Before it started and I received instructions about it I was imagining that we would only have classes through Google Meet. Related to the activities I didn't think how that would be. And when I first read the lesson plan I was a little confused because everything was new. I thought a few times: "Will I be able to do all this correctly?" I think it went through my mind mainly because I knew that my contact with my professors and colleagues would not be the same as when we meet in person at the university. I'm saying this because I often have difficulty understanding everything I need to do for each subject. In that sense the remote teaching leaves me a little lost. Although it's done in an organized way I feel that I can follow everything better personally. Maybe this is a little confusing but that's what happens to me.
But as the weeks went by and the classes also I was adapting myself to this new way of studying. And I believe this is the point: to adapt. Now, almost at the end of this experience, although I prefer to go to university to study I understood that it's possible to learn in this other way. In general, this period was really productive and full of learning for me! My teacher and colleagues also did a good job! I'm glad for that. And of course, I wish I can go back to studying the way it was before.
