Now that we knew what the brand meant, Sookie was ecstatic. She snacked the keys from Jess & started driving to fangtasia. I spent the whole car ride trying to explain how werewolves were a bad sign. I got no where as we pulled up & she bolted to bang on the door. I had to sprint after her & caught her from knocking a 10th time.
"Will you calm down before they rip your damn hands off?!" I warned as I locked her arms & covered her mouth. She had me looking like a damn kidnapper.
"Hi Tessa. Oh goodie, I do love a late night snack." Pam joked
"Is Eric up?" I asked
"Yes. You have 2 hours before we need to go to ground. Let me guess, this is about Bill." She replied, eye rolling on bill's name
"Lick me & I'm stuffing you in the boot." I warned Sook which made Pam laugh
"The little one wants to share a clue. Can we come in?" I asked
"Our lucky day." Pam sighed as she stepped aside
We walked in & I saw Eric on his throne. He was smirking as I dragged Sook in like a hostage. I sat the 2 of us at the nearest table. Once we were settled, he flew in.
"What do I owe the pleasure?" Eric grinned as he moved his seat close to me
"We did some snooping & found Bill's crashed car a few miles off from the interstate. One of his dead abductors was still in the car & had a weird branding." I explained
"What type of branding? He asked in a serious tone
"Got a pen & paper?" I asked
"Here. What did it look like?" He demanded as he passed me a napkin & marker
I drew the symbol & passed him back the napkin. Sookie was in his ear about it's meaning & backstory thanks to Jess. I studied Eric intense face. He recognised it & was reliving some bad memories. I knew that look anywhere. I started wondering how he found them & what happened to cause a long vendetta.
"You found this branded on the deadman's neck?" Eric investigated
"Bill summoned Jessica there. I think he was trying to show us who kidnapped him." Sookie explained
"Yeah, Nazi werewolves." Jessica giggled
"That dead guy was strong & fast enough to take Bill. He had to be something supernatural. I was hoping you could tell us more." Sookie pleaded
"Never seen it before. Sorry." He lied
"Your face said the opposite. I figured this was bad. But, how bad is it that it has you blowing us off?" I called him out. He glared at me before commanding Pam in Swedish.
"Let's go to the ladies room & stare at ourselves in the mirror." Pam said to Jess as she led her away. Eric remained silent until they cleared the room.
"Here's what I know about werewolves: there's a reason their existence has remained a myth to humans for thousands of years. They're territorial, viscous & pathologically secretive." He warned
"Boy, does that sound familiar." Sookie sneered
"And here's what I know about you: you're so blinded by your obsession to Bill Compton, you're likely to run through the streets screaming"werewolf bait" alerting whoever has Bill that we're onto them or getting both you & Tes killed. The last option is not one I like considering in the slightest." He pointed out
"You think I'm that stupid?" She scoffed
"No, I think you're human." he argued
"I like to think I've protected her pretty well so far. Don't underestimate me." I chimed in
