"Really?" Hunter asks with a small smile on his face.

I pretend to look bored as I examine my nails. "Well I have nothing better to do so." I tease.

"I'm grateful you could fit me into your busy schedule. I can only imagine what important people are waiting to meet with you and I have the honour of you gracing me with your presence." He says dramatically.

I laugh at his antics. "Okay now I can see why you want to join the drama club." I say, amused.

"Not that I'm not happy but has this got anything to do with Josh?" He questions suddenly.

I furrow my eyebrows at him. "What does Josh have to do with this?"

His face flares in embarrassment. "Well if I'm being honest, when I first met you guys I thought you two were dating, and then you know I found out you weren't. So when he mentioned that he wasn't going to go and you just said that you would go with me, I guess I kinda felt like I was a..."

"A rebound?"

His shoulders tense. "That's not exactly the word I would use but yeah. I'm not trying to question your motives or anything, I just don't want to be a replacement."

I boldly cover his hand with my own. "I want to go with you because it is my choice not just because it's convenient, otherwise I would stay home. And you can choose to believe this or not but you are not a replacement or a rebound for anyone because Josh and I are just friends and with you...." I trail, not really sure where I'm going with this. "I'm not sure yet, but I wanna see."

He relaxes as I take a sip of my hot chocolate, except it doesn't taste like my usual. "Wow this is really good. Is that peppermint?"

"Yeah. I figured I would surprise you since I wasn't exactly sure what you would like, as long as it wasn't coffee." He quips.

I scrunch up my nose in disgust. "Yeah, coffee is definitely not something I would voluntarily order myself. Too bitter."

A small laugh escapes him but something behind me catches his attention. I turn around to see a couple of guys come, Ramirez among them. I lift my hand to wave at him, he smiles and is about to come over but stops short when he catches sight of Hunter. Someone at the counter calls his name but he smiles at me before walking to his friend.

I turn back to Hunter, who still looks a bit dazed.

"Hey, you okay?" I ask.

His head snaps back in my directions and he smiles reassuringly. "Yeah, sorry. Just thinking. Anyway, what do you need to do for that article you were talking about today?"

"Well I basically have to interview Josh and ask him a couple simple questions about the start of the season and the last two games they had."

He nods his head in understanding. "And what is Chloé gonna be doing?"

I take another sip of my hot chocolate before answering. "Chlo is going to be taking some action shots of them practicing and what not."

"So I'm assuming she's really into photography, since she spent five minutes straight taking pictures of us today and telling us exactly how to smile and how to pose."

"Sounds like her. Yeah, she's always taking pictures. I mean she has so many different cameras at home, and she saved up for them all by herself."

"That's so cool. Is this the first time she's doing something like this for the school?" He asks, drinking his hot chocolate.
