Have you ever thought your life couldn't possibly get any worse only for the world to take that as a challenge and prove you wrong? Yeah... me too. My name is Izumi Shizuki and I had been living in the United States since I was little with my parents, if you can call them that seeing as how my mother was the definition of a drug whore and my father was the type of man to work himself into a grave. My childhood consisted of going to school, staying with friends, and avoiding home as much as I could since as early as I could so that I could avoid the parental disputes and actually have someone remember to feed me.

When I was thirteen however the world thought that I wasn't going through enough in my life and decided to destroy me even more. My mother was found dead in an alley somewhere after a long night of 'fun' as she would call it and the shame that this brought my family was more then my father could recover from. He ended up loosing his job and becoming an alcoholic who needed a punching bag, and I guess I fit the bill on that. One night he had beaten me so bad I had blacked out in the living room missing school the following morning which caused the school to send a police officer for a house check.

My father had managed to play it off as I had fallen down the stairs while he was out and with his overly concerned expression and constant drive to get me the help that I needed nothing happened. The cops closed their case after I was released from the emergency room and for about a week nothing else happened because the prick thought someone might notice. Two weeks later I don't even know what happened... all I remember is waking up to an insistent beeping noise in the corner of the room to find that I was in the hospital again. Apparently, he had beaten me so badly this time that the cops took him into custody and I spent three weeks in a coma, only to wake and find that I was a ward of the state for the time being.

Returning to school a shattered shell of whom I used to be meant that my  so called friends turned their backs on me and those who didn't look at me before suddenly decided that they needed to pick up where my father had left off. That is to say that until the end of my eight-grade year in middle school I was tortured daily resulting in concussions, bruises, and cuts over most of my body with the constant foster parent turning a blind eye much like the schools. It wasn't until I decided to try and end my life at the age of fifteen that the world must have decided to let up a bit because when I woke up in yet another hospital room, I found a very stern looking man watching me.

He was very tall muscular and serious looking, and though he had handsome features you could tell the years had been draining on him. The man didn't say a word or stop glaring in my direction until a shorter woman no more then five four walked into the room with long black hair and kind chocolate brown eyes slamming him in the back of the head...

Risa: "Hiro, knock it off you will scare him!" She exclaimed watching him for a moment until he turned to her with a slight smile gracing his lips... you could tell he loved her. "How are you feeling Izumi?"

Izumi: "I... am...okay..." I managed to croak out as she rushed to grab some water placing the straw at my lips and allowing me to sip slightly. "Who are you?"

I didn't miss the sorrow that ripped through her in that moment and for some reason I wanted to leap from the bed to hold her and reassure her, but I couldn't move. Something about the look she had... you know that look where they appear so shattered by your question, they are on the verge of tears... that hurt me to my core...

Hiro: "My name is Hiro Shizuki, and this is my wife Risa." He says stepping up behind her and gently squeezing her shoulder. "This may be hard for you to hear but you are our son."

Needless to say, I missed most of the rest of what he had to say to me as my mind had gone completely blank and as much as it makes me sound like a woos, I blacked out. Over the next few days I managed to recover, be swept out of the hospital, taken to my foster home to pack, and taken to the airport where I managed to get caught up on everything. Apparently the two I thought were my parents were actually a couple who had kidnapped me from the hospital, or at least the woman had taken me from the hospital when her son passed away and managed to pass me off as hers. Risa and Hiro were my real parents who had never given up on finding me and when the police in Japan had finally gotten a hit on my DNA after I was placed in the system, they worked with the US government to have me returned... but that took time.

When we arrived home in Japan, I found out that I was the eldest of three kids with a younger brother named Jiro and a younger sister named Kila. Jiro hated me the moment I stepped into the house as it meant that the ten-year-old was no longer the man of the house, but he seemed to like me as a person, so I didn't mind. Kila however became my shadow adopting me as her prince, and you know what... I actually loved having the little demon to dote on. I had always secretly wished I had siblings to love and take care of, and now I had it, on top of a real mom and dad... or so I hoped. About ten days after coming home I had to break the news to my parents that they had not only gathered a broken person but a defective one as literally everyone in my life had ever told me.

I sat them both down and told them straight out that I was gay, all while staring at the floor and refusing to look up as I wrung my hands so hard, I thought they would bleed. I didn't expect them to be relieved or for Risa to pull me into a bear hug but that is surprisingly what happened...

Risa: "Don't do that to me!" She exclaimed releasing me from her hug as I gave her a wide eyed expression. "I thought you were going to ask to leave or something!"

Izumi: "Huh..." I choked out stunned into silence.

Hiro: "Look..." He sighed as I turned to look at his more serious expression. "...we don't care who you choose to date or be with so long as you study like you should and work hard in life."

Risa: "Exactly."

Needless to say, it took a while for my brain to catch up, but I was over the moon when it finally did, my real family wanted me... all of me. I was determined to show my father that I could work hard and keep up on my studies so that I would finally make someone proud of me for once. That started with my entrance exams for my new school which I aced and deciding which after school program to be in. Unfortunately, the only sport I was any good at was sand volleyball and the US wasn't big on guys playing that sport... but to my surprise Japan was much different. I was in school for a week before I managed to arrange a meeting with my counselor who advised me that there was in fact a men's volleyball team at the school and after handing me the form, I headed to my last class for that day to fill it out.

So, here I am standing in the boy's locker room staring at myself in the mirror a little worried about what the others may think of me. I was Japanese born but I could only speak with a slight accent and was still learning to write most kanji correctly which made a lot of people look at me weird. I am only about five eight and my hair is pretty long falling past my shoulder blades which I often kept in a pony tail, my frame was athletic but a bit on the skinny side as my mom often reminded me, and my eyes freaked people out as they were glass blue nearly white. Heaving a heavy sigh, I headed towards the building that I had been told the team would be practicing in only to stop short when I reached the walk way.

Standing directly outside the gym appearing to be in some sort of battle with each other were two younger men. The smaller of the two appears to have unruly very bright ginger hair and comes off as driven and a bit dramatic, he also only appears to be about five four which is very short for a boy ,with big expressive brown eyes. The taller of the two seems to have an attitude issue with a constant scowl on his face, coming in closer to probably five eleven with a muscular build, short cropped black hair and dark blue eyes. They appear to have a rivalry that I am assuming only they know about but by the sounds of it this fight has caused them to get kicked out of the gym.
