quick note! apparently in japan, their school system is much more different than the american one. they start school in april and end in march. (don't worry they have breaks like summer break, winter break, etc) just keep that in mind if you ever get confused.

tsukishima and yamaguchi went out to visit their hometown, miyagi prefecture. they didn't even know that they came from the same place until yamaguchi mentioned to tsukishima that he wanted to visit miyagi.

yamaguchi explained he just wanted to visit an old friend of his that helped him through volleyball by the name of 'makota shimada'. and also visit akaashi who was working at an ice cream shop there.

it was a long ride to miyagi, four hours to be exact. yamaguchi felt bad asking tsukishima, but tsukishima reassured that it's okay and it doesn't hurt to visit miyagi for himself too.

on the ride there, they didn't really talk much since it was going to be hard to hear each other through the harsh wind from riding a motorcycle on a freeway.

yamaguchi passed time by admiring the buildings while tsukishima was focused on the road. traffic was't really that much of a problem due to the fact that they can go through easily with the spots between other cars and to miyagi normally.

they plan on heading to shimada's market first so they can get a small snack. yamaguchi hasn't even told shimada he was coming over, so it was going to be like a small surprise.

tsukishima parks in one of the areas in front of the market as they get off, stretching as yamaguchi lets out a loud groan.

"i hate sitting down for so long, how do you even do it tsukki." yamaguchi whines, earning a chuckle from tsukishima.

"kei."

"huh?"

"call me kei." tsukishima says, a small smile on his face. "and i'm just used to it since i have been riding a motercycle for two years." yamaguchi lets another small groan.

"well kei," yamaguchi starts. "i wish to learn your ways much more faster." he pouts, having tsukishima laugh.

yamaguchi saying tsukishima's first name made his heart flutter, it felt right. tsukishima didn't know if they were exactly dating. around two days ago after hinata's birthday, tsukishima just blurted out that they were dating. but they haven't really shown any love and affection to each other like how kageyama and hinata does.

they both head inside. the cool air hitting them (with a strong smell of fish and meat, but both were used to since shimada's market is one of the most well known markets to get food at). yamaguchi looks around for his friend, who seemed to not be at the cashier.

"you go find some snacks. i'll see if shimada-san is around." yamaguchi says, tsukishima nods and he goes into one of the aisles, looking for a few snacks to get.

yamaguchi starts walking around, looking through all the aisles until he sees a familiar guy with black hair and glasses helping a customer. a smile grows on his face as he waits for shimada to finish talking with the customer. he didn't like interrupting people when they are talking with others, because then it'll become awkward.

he finally sees the customer bowing to shimada as a thanks for helping him and he sees the older male turn around, only for their eyes to meet. shimada eyes widen as yamaguchi gives him a genuine smile. it took a second for shimada to realize what was happening and a smile also grows on his face.

"ah! tadashi, i haven't seen you since graduation (which was a few months ago in march, it's now the near end of june) how is collage?" shimada asks, walking up to yamaguchi and putting his hand on his shoulder.
