Taylor's POV

// the next day //

It was around twelve when I decided to go to Jeremy's house. I already knew his reason for wanting to talk and that made me nervous. I wish Hayley would've at least told me that she was planning on telling Jerm and Kat about what went on between us because maybe then I would've been prepared to face him.

I got to their house about a half an hour later and took a deep breath before ringing their doorbell. I didn't know what to expect. According to Hayley, he yelled at her and Jeremy never yells, especially not at Hayley. But I knew I was in for something way worse than yelling.

The door opened and I was greeted by a surprisingly calm Jeremy. We awkwardly said our hellos and he let me in, leading me into the living room. Silence filled the air, which was weird for us since we've been friends for over ten years. Usually, we could talk about anything, but I'm pretty sure this was something neither of us wanted to talk about.

Jeremy sighed, breaking the silence. "Look, Taylor, Hayley told me about... Uhm... Well, you know."

I nodded. "Yeah, I know."

"Why'd you guys do it?"

I shrugged, looking down at my fingers. "I don't know," I said, my voice barely audible.

"I just don't understand why you two would think it'd be okay to go behind everyone's backs and do something as stupid as sleeping with each other."

"Jerm, we-"

"Do you know how doing something like that could affect our band? Or even our fans if this happened to get out?" He asked.

"I guess I didn't think about that," I admitted, ashamed.

"No, you didn't. Neither of you did," he said, and I could almost feel the disappointment coming from his voice. "What you did was selfish."

"I know."

"Did you even think about Baylie?"

"I did and I felt terrible," I told him, truthfully. "But I couldn't bring myself to end it, and when I finally did, it was too late because she already left me. I felt awful just thinking about what I did to her, she didn't deserve that, but she took me back anyway."

Jeremy didn't say anything, instead, he just listened. I told him about everything that happened between Hayley and I and how it all started. To my surprise, he didn't get angry or try to argue with me, and I was thankful for that.

We sat there for a couple of hours just talking things out, and we agreed that it'd be a good idea to have a band meeting and talk things over with the whole band. I was a bit unsure about this idea at first, but then I realized that it was the only way to finally resolve things.
