'I am only here for snacks since I ran out and don't know how to get to the store. Keep that in mind.' Ranpo repeated that statement in his head as he walked down down the hall of his apartment complex to room 403. He slowed his walking as he made his way to the door 'he probably doesn't even have snacks I should just go back and call Atsushi to bring me snacks' then the door opened.

"Oh hello Ranpo I didn't think I'd see you here you live upstairs am I correct?" Edgar spoke softly. Ranpo liked his voice but would never say it out loud. He was ranpo. The ranpo the worlds best detective the only thing he likes is sweets! He felt something rub against his leg and looked down to see karl all happy to see him. He would admit he had a soft spot for the small animal they were alike after all. Liked attention, naps, snacks, and Edgar.

"Hi Poe, you'd be correct I do live upstairs I just came to" he paused thinking about how it'd come off rude to say he only came for snacks even if that was partly the truth. "To see how your new book was coming along" he may be childish in a way that seems rude but not to Poe. He liked the author to much to be cocky.

"Oh it's coming along nice, I decided to write another mystery novel for you on the side" the author looked away as he spoke the last part. It's not like he's embarrassed about it, it's more like being scared Ranpo won't like his book. He admired Ranpo not just as a detective but as a person.

"Really?! Can I read what you have so far!!" Ranpo lit up at this. Mystery novels were always so easy to crack but Poe's are special he wrote them specifically for ranpo so they are harder to crack. Still easy but it was more of a challenge. Nothing ranpo couldn't beat of course. He was the worlds best detective after all! He took pride in that statement.

"It's not quite done and if you read it now I'm sure you will figure it out before I even finish it" Poe spoke with a soft sigh knowing it was true. He hated to admit ranpo could always solve his mystery's in less than a few minutes.  Sure it was a record considering ranpo normally solved things in seconds. But it still wasn't enough for Poe. Knowing someone could solve his books without even the slightest struggle made him feel not good enough to be a writer.

Self confidence was something Poe lacked. Sure he had books he wrote and loved but there was always a empty feeling that it was never enough.

Those thoughts were quickly shaken away as a dramatic gasp was heard from the shorter male. "How are you so positive I would.  I want to read it! Come on Poe please!" There it's was.  The childish side of ranpo.

"No Ranpo.  You and me both know you'd solve it and all my writing would go to waste. Why are you even down here now anyway it getting late.." Poe originally planned to take Karl on a walk. Clearly they plan changed the second ranpo showed up.

"Oh.. yeah about that.. I'll be 100% honest.  I came here to see if you had any snacks I ran out" As Ranpo spoke a soft wave a guilt washed over him. Was showing up at your so called rivals house for snacks rude?   I mean he was your rival.  You should be stealing snacks from him. No.  Ranpo you shouldn't be that's exactly why you'd get kicked out of the agency.  You may be the reason the agency was founded but they'd kick you out just to scare you.

"I may have a few candies you'd like. Lucy still comes by to drop off things for Karl occasionally she buys me a gift in return I give her ideas on how to befriend the tiger boy" Poe bent down to pick Carl up and opened back his apartment door for Ranpo to go in.
