........................

[Blue POV]

My home is just a small, double-storey house with  hipped roof that located in a small town with the population that less than 30,000 people.

We moved here about 15 years ago, right after my father passed away. It was a tough time for our family. Especially for my mother. Being a single mother with three kids and without high pay salary, put her in a difficult situations.

Plus, my father didn't leave us with any fortune. The only thing that he left for us was this house. It is a passed down house from my grandparents. Thus, after they passed away, my father was the one who inherited it.

Back then, I always saw my mother cried silently in the middle of the night after she put us into sleep.

I knew she was in a deep pain. She lost her loves one in a blink, not one but two.

My father and my little sister, Amber.

It hurts me to see her, and it is hurtful when I can do nothing to help her.

What an 11 years old boy capable to do?

Then, I swore to myself that one day I will do the best for my mother. Do the best in making her happy.

"What are you doing standing like the statue of liberty in front of our yard?" Asked a familiar voice out of nowhere.

I flinched out of surprise and looked for the source of the voice.

"Oh, Beige! What're you doing here?" I asked her back.

She showed her annoyed face and said, "Seriously, Blue? I was the one who should ask you that."

I was blurred for a single second, couldn't process what was said by my little sister.

Yes, Beige is the third child of our family. So, actually I've got 4 siblings... including the youngest one who had passed. Now, only 3 of us that are left.

"Blue? Are you okay or not?" Again she asking me another question when I was getting immersed in my own thoughts.

Instead of answering her, I flashed a smile at her and messed with her hair. Her height is just on the same level with my shoulder. So, it makes it much easier to mess with her head. Hahaha.

Yes, I tried to deviate from answering to her question.

"Stop it! I just get my hair done." She complained.

"I think you look better with long hair than short cut hair."

"I don't need your opinion, brother."

I just let out a laugh.

Our age gap is quite huge, by 7 years. However, she is the closest with me. I often talk to her whenever I got problem.

"Come on, let's get inside. Mom, must have been waiting for us." I invited her inside and wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

"Jeez, Blue. I wonder whether it is me or you are the one who has just come home." She mumbled.

And again, I just laughed it off before I dragged her with me into the house.

Just after Beige opened the door, she was announcing my presence out loud.
