Chapter 10

After I dropped Alex off at school, I made my way to mine. When I got through the doors, it was an ordinary morning. I saw the group of Juniors that always hangs out right by the lobby before 8 o'clock. I went down the hallway to our senior lounge to find my friends. It was my morning routine. Every morning before school would start we would meet in senior lounge and hangout.

However, this particular morning was different. Usually people don't pay attention to me. I'm sort of, what you call, an outcast. I have my group of friends at school and that's about it.

Anyway, this morning was different because people were giving me attention, but it was the attention of people pointing at you and saying "that's the girl who....".

I didn't like this feeling. I felt singled out and on the spot. I don't know why people were acting so different from all the other mornings.

My first class of the day was history. There were a group of girls in that class that were not too fond of me. Not that they were mean to me, they just tried their best to advise me at all cost.

D'Andra, Blair, and Paisley are in my history class with me. They understand me and accept me for who I am. I'm an outcast.

My entire group of friends understands this.

So anyway, my teacher is very corny. He laughs at his own jokes. And the jokes he makes, make you uncomfortable because they are so NOT funny.

He was explaining to us a story in his past. It was about him and his fiancée. They were in college, and went out to habachi place with a group of their college friends. He was explaining to us how he much he had a crush on his fiancèe at the time, so he was trying to be cool around her and impress her.

He said he was nervous, so his nervs made him shove an entire fortune cookie in his mouth. At the end of his story, he was trying to be funny by saying: "So ladies, that's a trip down amnesia lane."

The group of girls that weren't too good of friends with me started singing: "I wish that I could wake up with amnesia, and forget about all the little things."

As they began singing, D'Andra turned around and looked at me to smile. In that moment, and say loudly: "WAMMMMMWEESSSIIIAA"

The girls who were singing came to stop and looked at me weirdly. They obviously didn't understand where that is from.

Like I said, I am an outcast. But I try my best to stay real. I don't change my ways because people don't like me. Eventually, there will be someone who accepts me for me.. Like my friends.

Just somtimes, I wish I was a little more accepted.

After school, I headed straight home. Alex was getting a ride home, so I didn't have to pick her up.

When I went home, I layed down. I needed a nap. I layed there thinking to myself.

I've known the band for two weeks now, and the 6 of us are like the bestest of friends.

After a few moments of silence, my focus is interrupted by my phone.

It's Calum.

TEXT MESSAGE:

"Hey KARSYNNNNNN"

"Hello Calum. How are you?"

"Better than ever, now?"

"What was not good before?"

"I wasn't talking to you."

"Oh"

"Yeah"

"I was thinking about maybe coming back to New Orleans. What are you doing next week?"

"At least one day, I need to go search for a Winter Formal dress."

"I'm definitely coming in next week. Do you think I could crash at your house?"

"I don't see why not. But aren't the other guys coming?"

"Yeah, but Luke wants to stay with Alex."

"Oh..... LOL!"

"Do you think they are dating?"

"Hard to tell. Usually Alex tells me everything when it comes to guys, but this... She's been so quiet about."

"I think they are cute."

"Agreed."

"I think you're cute, too."

From there I froze. I didn't know how to respond to Calum. I kind of just stopped texting him.

I called Alex shortly after he sent me that.

"Come over."

"No," she responded.

"Yes."

"Okay. Be there soon."
~~~~~~~~~~
*Knock, knock*
I rushed down the stairs, and swung open the door. I shoved my phone in her face. She read Calum and I's conversation.
She looked up at me with an "I'm not amused" face.
"You made me come over so I can read that Calum thinks you're cute?"
"No!!!......... Yes. Maybe."
"I'm going home."
"Nooo! Stay! My mom is at the hospital for the night. Let's order pizza and watch movies."
"Fine. But I can't sleepover."
"Fine by me."
During one of the movies, I noticed my phone lit up from a text message.
It was Calum.
TEXT MESSAGE:
"Hey, I'm sorry. I should have never called you cute. It kind of made things awkward."
"It's fine. I know I'm cute. I don't need to be told."
"Well, damn...."
"Lol. I'm totally just kidding."
"Haha! I'm coming this weekend. It's our last free time spot before the rest of our tour in America."
"And you want to spend it with me??"
"Not yes, but HELL YES."
"Damn... Alrighty then."
---
"Karsyn, what time is it?" Alex saying from a sleepy daze.
"12."
Alex swiftly reclines back to her previous position. This means she's sleeping over....
After a few minutes of staring at the tv screen, I fall asleep.
~~~~~

"OH SHIT! I have to go!" Alex says loudly awakening me.

She walks into my kitchen, grabbing an article of food, and without telling me bye she rushes out the door.

"BYE LOVELY! YOU'RE WELCOME FOR THE FOOD!" I scream back.

It's finally Friday.
