"Reid, what is going on?"

"Reid?"

"Spencer!" Reid flinched from Hotch's yell. He was too focused on the situation inside his own head, he forgot about Hotch right next to him.

"I'm sorry. I-I don't know." The dilaudid in his system was jumbling his brain. He couldn't focus on a single thing.

"Okay, Reid. Look at me," Hotch grabbed Reid's shoulder and angled him towards himself, "listen, please try to think back. I know you don't have a clear head right now, but I need you to focus. When did you first see your dad?"

"About a week after you placed me into rehab." I didn't know if it was him, I thought I was going crazy from the withdrawal, but I wasn't. His same face kept appearing over and over, but no one would believe there."

"Wait, wait, wait, kid? You saw your father, and told no one?" Rossi chimed in, starting to get an understanding of the situation.

"Rossi." Hotch scolded father-like.

"Once I got out of rehab, I told Garcia after about two weeks. She wanted to tell all of you guys, but I know he would just run away. And I was still mad at you guys. Listen, nearly 2,000 people escape prison a year, I know my dad is apart of that group."

"Reid, I'm just going to tell you, don't ever do anything like that again. You see something, you tell us. I don't care if you are upset, your father is a serial killer." Reid nodded quietly, and rubbed his face. He was extremely tired and couldn't focus anymore.

"Reid, are you okay?" Hotch noticed, "Spencer!" Reid fell forward into the back of the passenger seat, passing out. Hotch tried to sit him up, but he had to just lay Reid's head on his knees.

"Rossi, text Morgan and have him tell everyone else to meet us at the airstrip with all their things." Hotch quietly said, holding Reid still as they drove over the bumps on the road.

— 30-40 ish minutes later

"Hey Hotch, what's going on? Don't we have a case?" Emily asked, walking onto the plane with JJ behind her. They both noticed Reid, still passed out and looking ill, sitting in a chair next to Hotch.

"Is Spence okay?" JJ hurried over.

"Uh, I had another division take over on the case, it should be okay. And for Reid, he's fine. He's overwhelmed right now and I can't explain anything until we get into the air." Morgan walked onto the jet last, holding his and Reids bags. He dropped it in the walkway and sat on the opposite side of the jet.

"What's his deal?" Rossi asked.

"Probably thinks it's his fault Reids on dilaudid again." Emily guessed, and she was right. Morgan felt like a protector to Reid. He sent him to rehab to get him better, but if anything, it just ruined their friendship.

Once they got into the air for a while, anxious Emily finally asked: "What's going on?"

"Reids dad is back. He's been back. Stalking Reid while in rehab and there's a good chance he was stalking him in Las Vegas." JJ's hand went to her mouth and Emily's eyes went wide.

"How-" JJ started.

"I don't know. So far, no one knows until Reid is ready to share," they all glanced at Reid laying there, "which I don't know how happy he'll be about that."

Throughout the rest of the plane right, they all sat in an awkward tension. Emily and JJ kept asking Hotch questions he didn't know how to answer. Morgan was mad at Reid, but mainly himself, and sat in silence the whole ride. In all honesty, Rossi wasn't phased much, just surprised. He had seen stalkers, serial killers, abductions, drug abuse and so much more in his job, but he's just never seen it on a fellow team member who he calls family.

When the plane landed, Reid was brought inside on a gurney, easier to carry and less awkward coming inside. He was actually taken to the medical part of the Reno Field Office just to flush the dilaudid out of his system. The rest of the team went inside the SCIF.

"Agent Hotchner, nice to see you again, but not under these conditions." Agent Murray, the head of the Reno Field Office, welcomed the team inside and locked the secure door of the SCIF behind them.

Morgan had already started calling Garcia from the phone inside there, "Hello my wonderful friends, what do you need?"

"Garcia, search William Reid. I need everything on him." Hotch replied.

"Spencer's dad? Oh-oh okay. Uh, so it says here he's still serving his sentence for killing four people. He got a few years taken off from good behavior and other things."

"No, Garcia, his dad is out of jail. He somehow escaped or got out, I need you to find evidence of that, and then find William." Hotch was getting frustrated, but knew he had to stay calm for the fragile Penelope Garcia.

"Uh, did you encounter him today? I'm very sorry, sir, I'm just very confused what's going on." She knew about Spencer's dad, but the profilers could bust her lying any second, plus they already knew she knew.

"Baby girl, we know everything. Just give us the information you've been collecting on Reids dad." Morgan asked, still in a bad mood.

"Oh, yeah sure. I would've told you guys but Reid made me promise and I just couldn't betray him, is Reid even here?" She rambled on.

"Penelope please." The team was desperate for information. Garcia responded with a quick "sure, of course." and all the information appeared on a screen in the from of the room. It barely had any information, there was nothing on him.

"Is this all you've collected?"

"Yeah, Hotch. There's literally nothing on him. The system still says he's serving his sentence."

"Also, Garcia, I'm sending the jet back and I want you here in Reno with us. Bring whatever equipment you need, I'm sure they have a technician you can use materials from." Hotch quickly mentioned.

"Okay, so there must be someone on the inside helping him, maybe someone higher up?" JJ added.

"That's what me and Spencer thought. I asked him if he was even sure if he saw his dad, and he just got mad at me. I know he's not a liar but you guys say, your mind can make you see things you want to see. Maybe he just missed his dad at rehab. Is hallucinations a symptom of withdrawal?"

"Penelope has a point," Emily said, "are we even sure that Spencer's  dad is a threat?"

"May I add something? Why don't you guys go visit him in prison. If he's there, then you know your team member is just seeing things." Agent Murray suggested. Hotch started calling the Prison where he dad was held, setting up a time to come.

"I overheard you guys before, didn't the kid say his dad gave him gifts?" Rossi asked.

"Yeah, once Reid is awake, we're going to have to see them."
