Ah, what a nice day, Carlton thought to himself as he took a morning stroll around the park. It was a nice and sunny day with a few occasional strong breezes, and he wouldn't miss his chance to take a small walk outside of the base. After all, it wasn't every day that Luria slept in. Besides, no one was awake this early in the morning so what were the odds that someone would see his so-called "frightening" hair color?
The only thing that worried him at the moment was the scolding he'd get when he got back. He could already feel his ears ringing from the excruciating pain they would be inflicted. "Any moment now" he mumbled to himself as the image of his ruthless leader whisked inside his mind. She might have forgotten to set her alarm clock, but that was only due to the immense fatigue she had accumulated during their last mission. He knew that wouldn't happen again, not until next year at least.
He continued his short promenade trying his best not to worry about what would happen at the end of it only to be interrupted by something or rather someone he couldn't have imagined to encounter this morning.
There on the damp and frigid grass laid a rather particular young woman. Poor thing, he thought as he examined the strange girl eyeing her saddened expression. Had she been here all night? How did she end up here? Why did she choose to rest on the grass? Surely she would have been disturbed by its moist texture, right? Endless questions abruptly flew through his mind as he gently nudged on her arm attempting to wake her up.
"You okay?" He said in almost a whisper as he ogled the girl. Her hair shone beautifully under the rays of the light and curled up on the edges. They were a golden yellow he had never seen before, her skin was a radiant brown "not the usual skin tone you'd see around here" he interjected deep in thought. She had fluffy bunny ears and a tail------
-"Wait…. EARS AND A TAIL??" he unconsciously screamed, startling the fair maiden awake.
-"W-what? W-Where am I?" She responded softly, still half asleep blinking away her unclear vision.
-"Sorry… I didn't mean to startle you" he said with a slight smile as the girl closed her eyes still perplexed about what was happening.
Soon silence filled the atmosphere and the only sounds that could be heard were the humming sounds of the birds and the leaves swaying back and forth due to the strong breezes.
The young girl had a rather frightened and confused look at the moment. Is she scared of me? I wouldn't blame her. I have a very bizarre hair color after all. He told himself. Determined to break the ice between them he decided to speak up.
-"I was just passing by and I saw you laying on the cold grass. Curiosity got the best of me, that's all. I mean no harm, I promise" he said in the most convincing voice he could muster up at the moment.
-"Who are you?" The girl answered in a more calm manner. She paused for a few seconds, then added,
"W-wait a minute… Who am I?" As she realized the last element of her life that she could remember was waking up on the grass astounded by an unusually hair colored young man.
-The young man let out a sheepish laugh "Y-you're kidding right? Is this some kind of joke? This isn't very funny ya know?"
The young man let out an irritated sigh. "I don't want to deal with this early in the morning." He added under his breath.
Maybe she was just one of those people who questioned everything in existence. He had encountered many people who speculate that way before. I shouldn't waste this delightfully sunny day on a crazy girl who can't figure out the distinction between black and white. He advised himself as he stood up straight and headed towards another location. However, before he had the opportunity to take more than a step away from the girl he heard her say :
