Alexandra POV

I was sitting at the house helping aunt Mia get ready for her date with Brian and when I say "helping" I sat and ate some chips and told her about my day while she got ready. While aunt Mia was in the bathroom doing her makeup I heard a car pull up outside. When I went and looked out the window I saw the car Brian and dad had built. they got out of the car and walked towards the back shed, in it sat my grandpa's car. I never got to meet him but from what my dad told me about him he was a great racer and an even better man. The walked around and I could see their mouths moving as they talked about the car. A few moments later aunt Mia called me to see where I was. The process of her trying different outfits and hairstyles continued until it was time for her to go. Brian came to pick her up and dad glared at him the whole time. They left and my parents put me to bed. I couldn't wait to hear how her date went. As mom was helping me get ready dad walked in to help tuck me in. After I was under the covers and they both told me they loved me they didn't walk away like they usually do they just stood there and smiled at me and at each other.

"What's going on?" I ask confused.

"Well," my mom starts.

"We wanted to tell you before we went-" My dad continues.

"You are gonna take a few days off of school and come with us to Race-wars," they said together/

"Really?" I said excitedly as I jumped out of bed.

"Yes, only if you go back to bed dad says chuckling.

"We'll be back soon we love you," mom said as she walked out of my room hand in hand with dad. They smiled at me and shut the door. I had only one thought on my mind what was Race-wars gonna be like?

Mia POV

Brian and I sat in the tiny restaurant we were talking comfortably about life when he suddenly asked.

"So, um, how is it, anyways, that the- the gang came to be," he asked.

"What?" I asked as I laughed at his use of the word "gang".

"The gang" he replied while chuckling.

"The gang? No, they don't call themselves a gang" I replied still laughing.

"Well, what do they call themselves then?" He replied smiling.

"They're a team. They call themselves a team" I replied more seriously.

"All right, so how is it that the team came to be?" He asked again.

"Well, that's that's that's a whole lot of history," I said trying to talk about something else.

"I've got time" he responded cheekily.

"Okay. Vince grew up with my brother. Actually, he didn't-- he didn't ever actually grow up. As you can tell. Uh, but they were friends as kids. And Letty, she just, she lived write down the street. Always into cars, though. Ever since she was, like, ten years old. So, naturally, you know, my brother always had her attention. And then she turned 16--" I explained.

"And she had Dom's attention" He finished.

"Yeah. Yeah, it's funny how that works, isn't it? Yeah. Dom and Letty had Alexandra about a year and a half after they met. No one expected it, but now any of us would do anything for her" I explained. Thinking of Alex made a smile come onto my face.

"How is it that Jesse fits into the whole thing?" Brian asked curiously.

"Jesse? Well, Jesse and Leon just sort of showed up one night a few months after Alex was born and never, ever left. Well, it's just the way my brother is, though, you know? Dom's like-- He's-- He's like gravity. You know everything just gets pulled to him. Even you. " I finished.
