The Araceli Family
An ancient vagabond family whose members were known to be noble and kind. Protecting the people around them in their travels across this world. Rumor has it their blood run so old they wandered the land before the heavenly cataclysm since they are some that could speak with the archaic technology of the Veteres and the beasts of this world. One way to spot them is their silver-white hair.
Athoren raised his hand. His wide eyes and arched brows showing before he slapped Astnephele across her face. he grabbed both her arms and furrowed her brows. "you know very well why- she's their last hope, without her we would be better dead..." Athoren sighed loudly, placing a hand on Amara's head instead. "it's not her fault, get her out, I'll follow... after i teach those bastards some manners"
Athoren slammed the door shut. Trapping them inside. the air was heavy, Amara could only avoid the barely subtle glared her two cousins gave her. "be useful and find us a way out," Asthelia looked at Amara with cold uncaring eyes, nearly demanding her to cease to exist.
Her eyes fell on the window. It should be big enough to fit her if only it wasn't locked. Amara cursed the little curses she knew before Astnephele kicking the lock open. When she climbed out, the bright sunny day was gone, it was already a dreary evening.
"Amara's out, let's go back," Astnephele looked at Asthelia and nodded along.
"let me come" Amara grabbed the window as soon as they were about to shut it close. "please" Amara gripped the window frame. They furrowed their brows.
"get out Amara, or else Athoren's sacrifice will be in vain" Astnephele pushed her face away, yet Amara pulled the window back open. now she's just testing Astnephele's patience. who knows? perhaps if she's insistent enough Astnephele would let her. "Amara, run before I make you"
Amara flinched but still held on to the frame. "If you go back, it will make his sacrifice in vain too," Amara grabbed their hands, the tips of her fingers beginning to fade as she pushed them up with wind. Using them as a rope to get back in and pulling them out into freedom. Thankfully the window was wide enough for them to pass by her and her between them. "if it's my fault then let me fix it... besides... We Aracelies never leave anyone behind... that's our motto"
Amara threw them out and climbed back inside, shutting the window before they could open it. "Amara opens the window, you need to leave" she furrowed her brows, placing her hand on the window as frost begins to cover the window shut.
She turned her back on the window. Glancing behind one more time before walking out the door. "I'll fix this... it'll be my fault if he gets hurt anyways..." Amara fisted her hands and walked out. There is a secret tunnel behind some of the paintings. Amara knew this, seeing as she liked to play around with them as she was avoiding meeting her grandmother. She walked along the hall, silently, running away if she heard any form of noise she didn't cause.
She eyed the painting of an old marchioness. Kiana the undaunted. Pretty... enough to hide the tunnel that led right to her grandmother's study. Sliding the painting and climbing behind it, Amara began to crawl through the tiny and dusty tunnel. Cobwebs stuck on the dress she never liked yet she still felt some form of annoyance.
The storm was still pouring out. even behind the painting at the end of the tunnel, she felt the damp air. The small tight walls beginning to suffocate her. she pressed her ear against the back of the canvas. Arguing, yet muffled. An odd feeling for her. She looked at her hands again. Becoming opaque ever so slightly.
She sighed, pressing her hands together before feeling the cold and parting them. a single crystal of ice. Amara smiled grabbing the frost and cutting a hole through the painting ever so slightly.
