Sitting by the table alone at her favorite restaurant, Carrie glanced over her shoulders when she heard a laugh so familiar to her. She was right, Tony was there, little girl up on his shoulders, giggling and her wife, Candice, clung to his arm.
She observed the little family of three chat with some people who seem to be familiar to her too. She watched how the cute little girl laughed at his Daddy's jokes, how his wife held onto his husband, how happy they were.
Carrie couldn't take her eyes off of them, that's when she caught a glimpse from him, she felt her heart skip a beat. It's been so long since she last saw his face.
Tony smiled at Carrie and walked over to her table, daughter on his shoulders and wife on his side. "Carrie, hi!" He greeted, bringing down his daughter and gave Carrie a short hug.
"Tony." Carrie greeted back. A bit stunned by his sudden approach. Their memories together came back flashing through her mind as she stared at those crystal eyes of blue.
"This is my wife, Candice." Tony draped one arm around his wife. Candice gave Carrie a smile and a faint 'Hi, nice to meet you' and shook her hand. "And this is our daughter, Audri."
"Hi Carrie!" The four-year-old girl's voice rang out taking her out of her trance. "I'm Audri, i'm fouwr. How old are you?" The little girl sat beside Carrie, the look on her face was just so adorable.
"You have a nice name, Audri and I'm 29, sweetie." She smiled at Audri.
"Mommy's 29 too." The girl giggled. That's when she noticed her tantalizing eyes, the exact same shade as her father's. They were beautiful.
"She loves you." Tony piped in. "She loves listening to your songs." He smiled while his wife stood there awkwardly beside him.
"Oh, does she?" Carrie chuckled.
"So how are you? It's been so long." Tony caught Carrie's attention who was focused on his daughter.
"I'm great, thanks!" She replied. "I'm currently in the writing session and hopefully, i'd be able to launch this new albumm in six months." She smiled.
"Oh, i'm glad to hear that." Tony smiled again. "And good luck on the album, though I know its going to be great."
"Thank you." Carrie replied coyly.
"Hey princess." Carrie heard, instantly bringing a smile across her face. She turned around and saw Mike aprroaching, smile plastered on his gorgeous face.
"Hey baby." Carrie stood up. "So um, it was nice talking to you." She referred to Romo who is now also on his feet. "But we've got to go."
"No problem,it was great seeing you again." Tony countered.
Carrie smiled at him for the last time before turning her gaze to Tony's daughter. "Bye Audri." She crouched down ang gave the lass a hug.
"Bye Carrie, i'm gonna miss you." The girly replied, kissing Carrie's cheek.
They exchanged glances for the last time before the couple turned on their heels and walked away, hand-in-hand. Carrie was glad to know that Tony is happy with his family, and she couldnt be happier and more grateful for her perfect hockey-husband.
"I love you." She looked at Mike after he hopped on their truck.
"I love you more, princess."
