Previously-

I had made my way into class when they both appeared. She made the same surprised face she did the first time when I sat next to her seat. Finally they both sat down. Today, while I could blame it on my sickness, I was planning to be nice. And try to make her remember who I am.

Naruto's Pov

She flopped down beside me with Shikamaru on her other side. The professor gave us a 'catch up day' as she called it. Taking advantage of the opportunity, I started my plan. "Sakura what middle school did you go to?" She gave me a quizzical look. "Um, why do you want to know?" U shrugged. She told me the school and I felt my eyes slightly widen. "And what about high school?" Again, she gave me a quizzical look and then answered. So it actually is her. "I want to start working on the project after this class." I didn't want to wait to start it but I also wanted to see if she would catch on. "Actually I have to do something after school. can I meet you at your house later today?" It had bothered me a little that she was being so polite to me. "Yeah, that's fine."

When we went back home, I swallowed a whole bunch of medicine Shikamaru got for me. "Sakura said she's on her way, do you want some soup or anything?" Shikamaru helped me to the dining room table. "Shikamaru stop taking care of me you have assignments that you need to do. It's just a cold." despite what I was saying to him he started making me some soup. "You're my bro, of course I'm going to take care of you." Just then there was a knock at the door. I trudged to open the door while Shikamaru was still making me food. I opened the door and appeared was a pale Sakura. "Are you okay?" She gave me a breathy chuckle. "Just moved around too fast. What about you, are you okay? You look like crap, I can come back some other time." I cut her off before she would make herself pass out with all the rambling going on. "no it's okay. Come on it." I shut the door behind her. "Hey Haruno." Shikamaru appeared from the kitchen with his apron on. "Shikamaru what are you cooking? It smells really good." He waved her into the kitchen and I sat back down at the table.

"I'm making Naruto soup. Do you want some, I made too much?" I could feel myself dozing off in between their sentences. "Naruto." The frail hand that rested upon my shoulder woke me up from a nap I hadn't realized I was taking. "Shikamaru told me to wake you up while he goes to change." She put a bowl of soup in front of me. I mumbled a thank you as I dug in. I love Shikamaru's cooking. I could feel myself getting slightly better with each swallow. Sakura was done before me but she patiently waited for me. "What kind of art do you want to do?" I asked her while taking the last bite. "I'm better at traditional art, you know, paper and pencil." I nodded. "Do you color as well?" She nodded her head. "Do you already have something in mind?" I thought about it. "No, I just wanted to make sure we added some color." She stayed until midnight brainstorming ideas with me. "Well it's not due until the end of they year but it's a good thing we started planning already. I'm going to head home now." I hadn't realized Shikamaru fell asleep with books in his lap on the couch until I stretched. "See you tomorrow." She waved and quietly closed the door.

When she left I picked up Shikamaru's mess and threw a blanket over him. I grabbed a water bottle and headed toward my room to flop on my bed. I let out a satisfying sigh as my head made contact with my pillow. I didn't think that she would actually stay the whole time. I was pretty sure that she didn't want anything to do with me. It didn't take long until I passed out.

That night I dreamt of her. I don't know why I did. The dream itself seemed to have a deeper meaning to it. I saw her body disperse in front of me. I woke up with heavy breaths. The alarm on my phone had barely started going off before I turned it off. As I stumbled my way to the bathroom I thought about the dream I had. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't think of what the dream had meant. It's probably just one of those dreams that doesn't mean anything. Yet I couldn't shake the feeling off. "You're up early." I saw Shikamaru peeping from around the corner. I chuckled. "I guess so." He rose a brow but I turned to ignore any questions he was about to ask.

Half an hour later Shikamaru knocked on my door. "I'm meeting Sakura later today, do you want to come?" I thought about it long enough for Shikamaru to not get suspicious. I shook my head. the dream I had was still bugging me and I didn't want to be in a foul mood and ruin Shikamaru's fun. "I thought you'd say that but she wanted me to ask anyways." He turned to leave and then I stopped him. "She told you to ask me?" I could see he was doing his best to hold back his smirk. "Yeah, we're going somewhere that would be a good place to get started on your project or whatever. She told me it would be a good idea to ask you even after I told her you would probably say no." I stared at him in amazement. Why would she want me to go? I don't have any classes today. "You both don't have any classes today?" He shook his head no. "I change my mind, I want to go."
