Elliot's POV

I stepped outside, locking the door to the shop behind me. The cold night air swooped past, biting at my nose tip. I pulled my jacket further around me and began to track through the snow, making my way home. I had stayed after the shop closed, just clearing some things out when i made the mistake of sitting down for a short break and fell asleep.

It was now well past midnight and not a single soul was on the street. It was nice, walking home like this, the only sound was the one you made yourself. I felt like a kid again as i looked down and chuckled at the sound of snow crunching under my boots. I loved winter and snow. The fluffy and shimmering texture just looked so inviting. I stopped on a small field where the snow had fallen in a thick layer. It was untouched, no one had walked there yet, and so it only looked more inviting. I looked from side to side before stepping forwards, turned around and fell backwards. I chuckled a bit and made a snow angel.

To anyone else, i might've looked weird, but I didn't care. I finished and got up, turning around i looked down to the snow angel. I hummed and careful walked around it, bending down, drawing a halo at the top with my finger. I looked to it with a satisfied smile. I took a picture, uploaded it to Instagram and just wrote 'midnight fun' in the caption.

I pressed upload and continued my walk down the street.

Later

I sat, staring out the window, trying to calm down from the nightmare. The clock by my bedside showed 04:46. I got up and walked across my room. I ran a hand through my hair and walked out in the tiny hall, walked to the kitchen. I grabbed a glass and walked over to the fridge. I opened it, grabbing out a carton of milk. I poured myself a glass and drank it as i walked back to my room.

It was all a usual routine by now. Wake up from a nightmare, gather myself and then grab a glass of milk and stare out the window till i feel tired again. I could never remember my nightmares. All i knew was that I'd wake up in a cold sweat and feel like I'd just ran a marathon. I emptied the glass of milk and climbed into bed. I sat there, pulled the covers around myself as i stared out the window. I felt like i was being watched for some reason. I glanced around a bit and just laid down, pulling the covers around me.

I'm probably just tired.

I have no idea where this book is gonna lead or what its gonna be about. It's more or less to write for writings sake,  to try and get better. English isn't my first language so, bare with me please. I'll try and update when i can, but there won't be a consistent upload schedule or anything like that. This will be a single story, with a main character and stuff. I might do a one-shot book some other time but I just felt like making a book for now.

I'm just trying out new and different things to find some kind of writing process that i like. I want to get back to writing since its been a while. I have so many juicy ideas but barely any time or motivation. I'll write a sentence and just not like it and after that, its like all the stuff I've written is just bad. But never the less, I'll do my best to make this story into something.
