Amy is a 14 year old and tall girl with blonde hair and a friendly voice. She lives in Hastings with her
family. And if you would ask her she would describe herself as brave... she only is afraid of the dark.
But since their parents decided to bring Pinky, a little dog with short legs and a much too long body,
into the family, Amy is not afraid anymore. By the way, Pinky is allowed to sleep next to her bed at
night so she usually feels safe in the dark. He is pretty small but when he barks it sounds like he is
huge and dangerous.
It was January 2011 so it was quiet cold outside, there were not any leaves on the trees. Because of
Pinky, Amy's parents had the idea to travel to whales to visit her mother's sister for 2 days. Amy's
parents and Amy herself had the opinion that Amy is old enough to stay alone at home for two
nights. So Amy's parents start their short trip on a Friday evening after dinner. Amy was tired and
went to bed early this Friday. She allowed Pinky to sleep in her bed this night only because it was
cold in her room.
Amy dreamed of being a girl that lives in a castle. In her dream she woke up by loud scream. So loud
as if it was almost next to her bed. She was really frightened and decided to have a look at what
happened. The screaming continued and she was almost scared to death when she realized that
Pinky was not in her room. The old door was open and Pinky was gone. What a nightmare for Amy.
She felt so alone. No Pinky, no parents and some screaming witches next to her room. She decided to
have a look outside her old room with the old squeaking door. When she went out of
her room she saw two knight's armours on the left and the right of her room door. She did not want
to go outside but she had to look for Pinky. When she sneaked outside her room she heard
Pinky barking behind her. Now she really woke up and was in her room again. She ran back into her
room and had a look outside the window where she could still hear the screams that she heard in her
nightmare. She saw two cats fighting and screaming. When she looked at Pinky it seems as if he was
not interested in the screaming and in protecting Amy. He was just begging for a little delicious piece
of sausage that he could not forget since Amy and her family had dinner.
Amy laughed at Pinky, went to the fridge and gave Pinky what he was dreaming of.
They both went to bed after the second dinner and slept well for the rest of the night.
