Friends with the Enemy

Everyone staring at me. No noise. Just me. Standing there. Quite awkwardly. I ran off, ready to cry as I ran to the washroom. I didn't want to seem week. But what more could I do. All of my emotions bundled up inside of me. I balled my eyes out. That's when someone walked in. My heart stopped.

"Hello." Said an unknown voice.

I turned to see the same boy I caught staring at me earlier.

"Oh um hi." I said nervously.
I had makeup on, so since I was crying, it all smeared. I looked ugly. That was not the first impression I wanted.

"Are you ok?" He said.

"Yeah I guess.." I said hesitantly.

"I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy."

"I'm y/n, y/n Moonlight."

"Oh, no wonder everyone was staring at you. You're very well known. Why are you here if you can easily go to a much better wizardry school?" He asked.

"I didn't choose to come here. My parents used me for fame and dislike me very much. I come from a very broken family, and I was forced to come here." I said tearing up again.

"It's ok, I understand" he said

"You do?" I responded.

"My father despises me very much." he said, looking at the ground.

"Hey, it's ok. I think we can be very good friends, considering our similarities." I said

"Ok, well we better head back to the sorting. The ministry is probably very confused with what happened earlier." Draco said.

As I walked back, Hermione ran toward me.

"Y/N! Were you talking to Draco?!?!" She asked.

"I suppose. Why?" I replied.

"Oh dear oh dear. He is the rudest person here. He is a bully, and will hurt you y/n! Don't fall for his tricks. He is the enemy!! You don't want to be friends with him! He will ruin your life! Don't give in to his secret plan!" She said.

Hey everyone. Id just like to say this. Please wear a mask! If you don't have to go outside please don't. Corona has been going on since March 13th, and I want everyone to stay safe. Don't interact with many if you don't have to. If you have to leave your home for an emergency, please wear a mask. And remember to wash your hands! This virus is not a joke, and if we don't contribute as a team to defeat this, it will never end. I hope everyone is safe, and remember this: You not going outside and washing your hands may seem like nothing, but it is helping more than you think it is.
