Tord and the reader

You sat in a hospital waiting room biting your nails. Your dad got seriously hurt in an explosion and it was the most terrifying thought to you. One minute you were at home doing your homework and the next your uncle Patryk called you that your dad was in the hospital. You kept bugging him and Paul about what happened, but that's all they told you. You were beyond frustrated, confused, and terrified. Was he gonna be okay? Are you going to be able to see him? What if he dies- oh god is he gonna die? You've lived with him since you were about 9. He was the only father figure you ever had in your life. Your actual dad was never there, and after your mom died, he saved you from going into foster care. You were so close to him, you couldn't imagine what would happen if he died. You were uncomfortably close to just breaking down then and there in front of at least 10 other strangers in the small room.

You heard the door leading to the operation rooms opening and looked up. Uncle Paul came through with a concerned face. It was clear he was just as worried as you. He looked at your uneasy figure and beckoned you to follow him out to the smoking area where he could relieve his stress. You got up and followed him out the door and walked to the little patio outside of the building. He pulled out a cigarette and flicked his lighter, setting the tip on fire. He took a long drag, and exhaled finally speaking. "His vitals are fine, although hes going to need an amputation of his left arm. His left eye got blinded in the explosion too." He said calmly, probably trying to calm you down. You took shakey breaths. He was gonna be okay, he was gonna be okay, was he gonna be okay? Paul put his hand on your shoulder to try and comfort you. "...Where's uncle Patryk?" You asked. You had to take your mind off of your dad. "He's still in the operating room. I left to go take a smoke. They're about to preform surgery, though. Patryk is gonna be booted out soon. He'll meet us in the waiting room." He replied. You gave a small nod in confirmation. You stood out there with him a few minutes longer so he could finish smoking.

3 hours. It has been 3 hours since his operation began. You checked your phone vigorously the whole time. Every glance at the time made you more and more stressed. It got to the point where when Patryk tried to calm you down you almost threw your phone at him in surprise. Paul and Pat stared at you in utter surprise, not expecting such a big outburst. You shrunk down in your seat, embarrassed. "Let's go get some cold water, (Y/N)..." Pat stated. You let out a quiet 'mhmm' and followed him to the food court in the downstairs of the hospital. He went to one of the little food kiosks and ordered you a water and two cookies for him and you. This was the first time in hours that you ate, too occupied by worrying about your dad. Ironically though, you weren't that hungry. You guessed that the stress strained your appetite. It was a miracle that the cookie stayed down considering the amount of extreme sports that was going on in your insides. The amount of dread you felt in your stomach was almost painful enough to be nullifying. Nausea had made itself quite acquainted with you these past few hours. You took shaky sips of your water.

About 15 minutes later, you and Patryk went back to the waiting room meeting up with Paul who was talking to a nurse. He beckoned you guys over and turned back to the nurse, "Can we see him now?" He asked. The nurse shook her head, "You all can follow me back to the operation room, but unless we get special request from the patient, I can't actually let you into the room." She said something else, but you were too giddy to listen. You could finally see your dad! He was ok! Before you knew it, you three followed her down the narrow hallway to the room your dad was held in. You finally got to his room, and the nurse motioned for you to step aside. She opened the door, but was blocking the view of your father. "Mr. Tord, you have three visitors. Is it okay if they come in?" She asked. A few seconds later she nodded and turned back to you three. "He said it was okay." You almost jumped so high you hit your head on the ceiling. You were so excited to see your dad again. You looked at the other two as some kind of approval to go in. "You can go in before us, (Y/N). I bet your dad is more eager to see you than us." Paul said. "He's all yours, kiddo." Pat confirmed.

You ran into the room quicker than you have ever ran. You didn't even care about your surroundings. The only objective to you was to hug your dad. "Dad!!!" You ran to his blurry figure and pounced on him giving him the biggest hug you could ever comprehend. Your arms held to his bare back for dear life as if you would never touch him again. He took a few moments to register what just happened, but you heard the releasing of gas from his oxygen mask and his deep chuckle. He wrapped his arms around you as you felt something cold touching your back. You didn't care at the moment, you were too busy sobbing into his shoulder. "Its okay, (Y/N). I'm here, everything is okay." You heard his thickly accented voice console you. You thought you'd never hear his voice again. You finally looked up at him with teary eyes, finally taking in his form for the first time. The left side of his face was badly scared and he looked at you with one milky eye. The scar went all the way to his left shoulder and his arm was replaced with a red robot arm. You broke down in front of him, "I was so worried, Dad! I thought you- I thought you died! You don't know how scared I was!" Your emotions got the best of you and you looked at your legs on his blanket covered lap, breaking down in tears.

You felt his human hand cup your cheek and bring your vision back to his face, while his other hand wiped your tears away. "Listen to me, my brave soldier. I would never go down without a fight. I'm far from dead, and you better believe that I wont be for a long long time. Everything is okay now. I'm sorry for giving you such a scare, you know your dad can be a little reckless sometimes." He paused giving a little chuckle. You laughed a bit too, happy to see he was okay. He continued, "see? I told you everything is going to be fine. I'm not giving up on you that easily, (Y/N). I love you too much." You smiled at him, "I love you too, dad."
