"So start from the beginning."

"Clay, I'm not sure I can anymore. To start at the beginning of this story would require me to know where it was."

"I thought that was obvious."

"One thing I've learned over the last few weeks, things that seem obvious are often far from it. But you want to hear the whole story. You know a lot of it already; you were a part of it."

"But tell it from the beginning. For posterity."

"Posterity? We're still waiting for the comic book."

"You're going off-topic."

"I know. But the beginning started not that long ago yet twelve years ago. Not too long after Alex moved in down the street. Nicole was over..."

Twelve Years Ago

Meghan Harrison walked down the familiar street, fighting back the feelings of nostalgia as she looked for the familiar house.

"Talk about deja vu." Alex loudly whispered beside her.

Deja vu was right. The sun was shining, the leaves were changing, and the note Meaghan held was about to close a loop that three months ago, she would never have believed existed. But this needed to happen so that someday she could get to the place where she'd write that note.

In a front yard in front of a familiar house, three girls were running around wearing fairy wings and waving wands even though Halloween was still a couple of weeks off. For a second, the trio watched the other trio remembering the days when they believed in magic and fairies.

"Ready?" Nicole finally broke the silence as the younger girls ran into the backyard leaving Meaghan's childhood doll, Ambrosine, sitting alone on the front lawn. Meaghan went into the yard, knelt down, wiped off Ambrosine's face freeing it of grass and dirt. Taking the envelope out of her jacket pocket, she carefully placed it in the doll's arm where she knew Meaghan would find it in a few short minutes.

"And so it begins." Meaghan got up, dusting off her jeans, and turned to her friends. "Someone asked me if I could change what happened, would I?"

"By leaving that, I guess we have your answer." Nicole nodded to Ambrosine.

"Are you guys sure?" Meaghan let her eyes linger over the peaceful memories.

"It might happen without the letter. At least that gave us a fighting chance." Alex was staring at the fresh note, her expression virtually unreadable.

"Whatever happens, we're in this together." Nicole put her hand in, a motion that had become familiar to the trio.

"Together." Alex smiled, putting her hand on top of Nicole's.

"Always." Meaghan joined before turning away. "Let's get out of here. I'd hate to have to explain to our mothers who we are."

Meaghan laughed as the girls walked arm and arm down the street.

The song of three young girls echoed behind them.

"London Bridge is falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down. My fair lady."

Author's Note: Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever story on Wattpad! I'm really excited and nervous about this and I hope you enjoy this little tease of what's to come. The story is complete but I'm still editing the end so for now, I plan to post once a week though I may post chapter two early since this one is so short.

See you soon!
