mirror and glass

The glitter in your eyes might be nowhere in sight
But the way your lines curve
Say everything I wish to know

The reflection in between worlds
As if mirrors weren't physical
As if they portrayed bare similarities
Amongst feelings and lack of skin

I graze the glass that is you
And my finger touches itself
With hopes of trespassing the impossible line
It's so far of reach
Is glass even real?

All I want is to break it
Shatter it
Bend it backwards
Change its entire concept

Mirrors aren't reflections
They're mere barriers to our visions
Nothing more, nothing less
If I could only feel its insides...
And travel within your world
And see what you're truly made of
To finally feel real
Beneath your touch
As my lips you brush
I long for everything you want
And avoid everything you judge
Just so the mirror I stare
Falls apart upon my glare

I tend to construct a town as I think of you
You invade my dreams and cause the exodus of scenes
In lucid visions I see no mirrors
And I confront glass by avoiding it
Thus I drop to my knees
To reach what I can't depict
I look up to your eyes
Feel your hands willingly touch mine
I beg
Stay
But lucid visions tend to drag you away

Kiss the mirror we once both loved
Recall the words we lacked knowledge of
And see how bright our world can be
When our barriers finally flee

I know I'll keep the replica we despise
Perhaps against my skin let its pieces glide
Against the tissue of my being
Cutting me open
To soon turn me into the concept I once thought I shattered
So you can graze your fingertips
And touch mine

The reality of our mirror will no longer be declined
