The last few weeks have been spent shopping, packing, overthinking and crying. There has not been a day go past where Jason has not texted me saying how sorry he was, how he wants a second chance or about how much he misses me. I delete each text he sends through without a reply then I sit on my own and cry. I am slowly getting better but the entire moment and the lies continue to play through my head. I just do not know why it had to happen to me or why I was not the one he wanted to sleep with first.

Chelsea has been amazing. She has been trying to keep me occupied so I don't go all depressed and shit as she said. We went shopping the other day and bought everything we needed for our new dorm. We are beyond excited; she cannot stop talking about all the guys she thinks we are going to meet and all the parties we are going to attend. I am more excited about seeing where my dad went to school and more than anything I am excited to get away for a while.

After all the planning and thinking the day has finally come. Today I will be leaving and flying to California, flying to Stanford University.

"Double checked everything is packed?" My mum asked as we stood outside by the car, ready to drop me and Chelsea at the airport.

"Yep, I think we have everything." I give Nina a massive hug and kiss.

"Be good kido, I'll see you at Christmas."

"Bring me back a Stanford jumper, and have fun." We finish our hug and I get into the front seat and Chelsea hops in the back. We waved out the window to Nina as we drove off to the airport.

The adrenaline then started to kick in now and all I could think about was Stanford.

We arrived at the airport and Chelsea and I grab our bags out of the car. My mum walks us to the front door and I give her a hug.

"I love you so much okay. I am going to miss you but you're going to love it. Your dad would be so proud." My mum's eyes start to water so I go in for another hug.

"I love you so much more. I will call you all the time. See you in six months." I give her one last hug and then she hugs Chelsea. We both turn around and walk through the airport up to the check in desk.

We were greeted by a lady who looked overly happy to be working. We gave her our passport and flight pass before she stamps us through, collects our bags and points us in the direction of our flight.

We were ready to board our flight to California. We headed towards the flight gates until Chelsea stops.

"You have got to be kidding me." I follow her eye line and am faced with Jason standing at the flight gate with a bunch of roses.

"Is he serious." We walked towards our gate which happened to be on the other side of where he was standing.

"Selena, I just wanted to say I am so sorry again. I don't want you to go. Please just stay here with me and we can work this all out." Chelsea and I looked up at him while he rambled on. He looked tired, like he hadn't eaten. I could tell he was regretting everything he did. But it did not mean I would forgive him.

"Jason, I am going. When I get back in six months we can talk then." Chelsea and I then walked straight passed him and towards our gate. We showed the air hostess our boarding pass before walking onto the plane. I didn't look back because I knew that if I did I would remember his sad face for the whole time in California.

Please assure your seatbelts are fastened and please pay attention to our friendly staff who will now present the safety instructions. Enjoy your flight. We should be landing in California at 1300 hours.

Chelsea and I were fastened into our seats and paying attention to the two women in front of us giving a safety demonstration. Not long now and I will be in a new state, new college with new people.
