"Psst, Denki," You whispered, nudging the blond-haired boy lying next to you. "Denki, look at this."

"No," He whined in response, pressing his head deeper into his pillow.

Quirk training had taken a lot out of Denki that day. The amount of electricity he was able to place into his charges was steadily increasing. However, he was still recovering from the overwhelming after-effects of using his quirk too much, leaving him with an intense throbbing in his head.

You shook him lightly, "Please? It's a new trend on TikTok, we should do it."

"I am literally dying right now, and all you can think about is your stupid TikTok," Denki huffed, picking up his head just enough to playfully smack your shoulder with his hand, "Some friend you are."

You gasped, breaking into laughter as his arm quickly retreated back under the pillow before you had enough time to grab it. You shifted onto your side, reaching up to twirl a part of his hair in your finger, "Denki, you're being dramatic. You are not going to die."

"Um, you're lucky I even let you into my room in the first place. I could've said no." Denki retorted, his voice muffled by the pillow.

It was your turn to shove his shoulder. "Dummy, I came over to take care of you. I even gave you an icepack for your forehead, which you rudely ended up throwing on the floor, might I add."

"Because it got warm," Denki mocked, letting a soft giggle escape his mouth. He shifted on his side, golden eyes glaring directly at you, "Geez, do I have to explain everything?"

"Alright, alright, enough with the slander." You sighed, shutting your phone off and placing it between you two.

It's not like you hadn't been this close in proximity before. In fact, that past weekend, you and Denki stayed up until the early morning hours, trying to learn TikTok dances and talking about the future in his dorm room. From ranting about things that bother you two to comparing funny videos and memes that you had found with him, hanging with Denki had become second nature to you, with most of your hangouts ending with you accidentally falling asleep in his room.

Yet, something felt different about this time around. Something about Denki's softened face, his eyes that crinkled when he smiled at you, and his hair that fell gently around his face made your heart flutter. It was up until this moment you had managed to dissuade any prior feelings you had about Denki in fear of ruining the sound friendship the two of you already had. You cared for him greatly, is what you eventually decided on, despite the random urges to confess your deepest wishes in hopes that he felt the same way. Because truly, if you weren't terrified to make the first move, he would be wrapped in your arms.

You cleared your throat, shoving those thoughts to the back of your mind to prevent any further heart palpitations. "Anyways, how's your head doing?" You asked gently, concern filling your voice as you examined your best friend.

"It doesn't hurt as bad as before," Denki smiled, tucking his hand under his head. "You know what would make me feel better, though?"

"Hm?"

"A kiss."

You rolled your eyes, and it took every fiber of your being to pretend that his comment had no effect on you. Denki flirted like this often, knowing precisely how to rile you up. His lopsided grin and crinkled eyes made it all very tempting, but you weren't about to let him win this easy.

You sighed, "Alright."

Denki's eyes widened, "Wait, really-"

In one swift motion, you kissed your free palm and slammed it against Denki's forehead.

"There ya go," You mused, bursting into giggles as you watched a pout form on Denki's face. He averted his flustered face from you, the tips of his ears reddening.

"I cannot believe you just did that." He gaped, pretending to be more hurt than he actually was. "I don't even know why I'm still friends with you."

After your comedic blow to his head, you watched as his sleepiness began to creep back in. His eyelids fluttered slowly, threatening to close.

"It's because you love me," You remarked slyly, gently tapping his nose.

Denki's eyes remained closed, "You're not wrong there," He mumbled just loud enough for you to hear. "You can be such an ass sometimes, but I really wouldn't trade you for the world."

You felt your heart begin to race fiercely, your cheeks heating up in contentment. You struggled to form any kind of smart comeback and failed miserably. His words played and replayed in your head, the genuineness of his statement resting warmly in your chest.

Before you realized what he was doing, Denki had closed the distance between the two of you. With his head resting neatly in the crook of your neck, he intertwined his hand with yours before bringing it to rest against his chest.

"Much better," He hummed, his sleepiness beginning to consume him.

It's ironic; Denki was the one with an electrical quirk, and yet here you were, mind malfunctioning at the increased proximity between you two. You could barely believe that Denki Kaminari, the boy you had secretly liked for so long, was now cuddling into you.

Denki rubbed his thumb over your hand in reassurance, most definitely noticing your hesitation. It was a small gesture, and yet it spoke volumes. You felt a surge of giddiness run through your body, your connected hands filling with sparks and tingles. Feeling a new sense of confidence, you placed your lips on his forehead, gently kissing his warm skin.

A small smile played on his lips as he breathed in gently, "I'm so glad I have you. My own personal sunshine."
