The girl was walking through the castle, a flashlight in her hand. It was old and decrepit, adding to the feeling of adventure. She wanted to find something that told a story of the life that was once bustling in this grand place. She didn't know if she would be able to find her way back with the winding of the hallways seeming to change every minute. The girl found her way to a large wooden door that held carvings of the Celtic tree of life. She stood there staring at it, wondering how the carvings looked like new and were not worn down over the years. The girl carefully pushed the door open to reveal a lavish room with heavy red drapes and a humongous bed fit for a king. She was even more confused now, the other rooms were in ruin, their beds a pile of wood and drapes eaten by moths. The girl walked to the window peering out over the vast lands, now seeing horses pulling carriages, and ladies in beautiful gowns walking up the steps to the entrance. The girl panicked and ran out of the room looking left and right, only to see the castle as it once would have been, lavishly decorated and bustling with people. She walked back into the room and out again to see if she could get back to her own time. It didn't work. The girl was stuck and didn't know how to get back.

Hello! I hope you all liked it! I did this as a sort of challenge assignment for my English class and really liked it and thought I'd share it with you all! If you would want to see more I'd be happy to continue it! I just can't guarantee a regular publishing schedule with school going on right now, especially with it being my senior year, that is if you all want to see more.
